I dont know if this has been asked before or if this may be a little goofy of a question but I didn’t see anything relating to it and I’m kinda curious what the culture of Lemmy is like and what sort of common things people see. ive been paying attention to interactions but nothing is as good as just asking everyone.
The median age seems to be much higher than other platforms if i had to guess its around 30-35. There are a good deal of tech people, Foss people and activists. There seems to be a balance of gender( based on nothing but vibes). Lots of lgbt people and communities.
There is a culture of creating art, technology and building spaces. There is a culture of inclusiveness and working together. Calling out bad behaviors in people, companies and governments.
Also cats and coffee.
I am only including the lemmy that is within my own federation. I am aware there is fringe communities of extremists and vile people but I’ve had very little interaction with them so I can’t say how much of an impact they have on lemmy as a whole.
I hate how he was justifying removing the program a few weeks ago and now he’s walking around talking about how good it is. All he has done is cut quality.
Sounds good. It’s a win win. People that doesn’t like the system d implementation can use doas or keep sudo. I Hate the name though. Run0 is dumb can’t they just steal the name doas

This reminds me of the meme where the stick man acts dumb and then everyone thinks he’s dumb then as he is walking away he’s like ha they didn’t know I was only pretending.

There is already a deal that has been negotiated and signed off by Isreal. I’m wondering if the phrasing from the article suggest hamas has signed off on something completely different essentially resetting peace talks.
An official familiar with Israeli thinking said Israeli officials were examining the proposal, but the plan approved by Hamas was not the framework Israel proposed.
Yes I did expect the article to have at least some references to back up their claims especially since they are accusing other people of providing no evidence. The reason the article didn’t provide any sources is the same reason you didn’t because you don’t have any.
brings people like you crawling out from under a rock
So you post lies to draw out people who will point out those lies. Doesn’t that make your cause look stupid? Isn’t that what a psy op would do?
There is enough truth to make a compelling pro Palestinian argument why would you fight on points that are obviously untrue.
None of these sources support the claim that there were a large percentage of deaths from the IDF. Even if I take every case you linked as 100% true there is still not a large percentage of friendly fire deaths.
It makes no sense for the host to push back on the claim that Hamas murdered x amount of Isrealis and say um actually there were a few cases where amongst the chaos some friendly fire happened. You would only believe this to be a valid thing to push back on if you believed the conspiracy that a large number of deaths in oct 7 were from the idf.
Honestly all Jack had to do was ask really simple questions like “is it wrong to kill children” and “what should happen to people who kill children”. Simple questions like that is all it takes to make a genocide apologist duck and dive and weave trying to escape.
He has likely already prepared a response to that since its the most common thing that is brought up. I think a better question would be to press him about the war goal of removing Hamas. Even in a perfect world where they remove Hamas (which they wont) they have caused so much damage to the Palestinian population and infrastructure there is no way any group less extreme than Hamas emerges to lead Palestinians. When Isreal pulls out of Gaza, Palestinians will return to their homes which are a pile of rubble and will be reminded every day about the war. I would like to hear him explain how this leads to more peace in the region. They could have pushed him about the peace deal that was in the works at the time and why Israel refused to sign if Hamas included a line about ending the war.
