Dettweiler42,

P.S. Also, groceries are already expensive enough. Eating out costs even more than that.

Dettweiler42,

They’re snorting the gas off of cans of whipped cream.

Dettweiler42,

Still bleeding in a warehouse wondering WTF just happened.

Dettweiler42,

My only hangup is this would be the second chance at getting anti tank mines that we could fail. They must be important for whatever is coming next if they’re offering them up again so soon. The airburst missiles were off the table for quite a while when we failed the first time on those

Dettweiler42,

It’s a customer option (hush kit) for certain engine types, and it’s supposed to reduce exhaust turbulence, thus reducing noise. However, it’s usually the high pitched whine of the compressor that most people hear. Most companies don’t want to pay for it unless they’re required to fall under certain sound levels for certain airports at night. For those, it’s often cheaper to not fly that route at night, or use a quieter airplane (such as a CRJ or ERJ with GE CF34 engines).

What's your go-to "Bang for your Buck" filament brand?

As I’m graduating college in a few weeks, I’ll be losing access to my university’s free printers and filament. I’m going to build up a home lab with a couple printers where I can make goofy little mechanical projects as well as some components for my cars and stuff....

Dettweiler42,

I’ve been using Creality’s hyper PLA. It’s pretty good quality and my printer/slicer combo has presets that are 95% what I want (I tweak the print and bed temps as needed). I’m using an Ender 3 V3 KE for reference.

Dettweiler42,

To Tiberian Sun and StarCraft were my obsession for years. SC2 was pretty awesome, but I would not trust Blizzard to make another good RTS at this point.

Dettweiler42,

Generals was really fun. The C&C series really started to decline once EA went balls deep on what was left of Westwood studios for the games after that.
3D is great. I just don’t trust most AAA companies to make a decent RTS these days.

Dettweiler42,

You take it every day. It’s a neural reuptake inhibitor, so it needs to build up in your system.

For me, it’s not a fast fix like a stimulant would be. It just takes the edge off of my symptoms, make them easier to manage, and makes it easier to do stuff. In fact, the biggest thing I’ve noticed is the effect it has on executive dysfunction.

Atomoxetine (straterra) is a slow burn. It takes at least a few weeks to start noticing any effects. I haven’t noticed any side effects, other than some trouble sleeping the first week when I first started taking it; but that was because my insurance wouldn’t approve me for a lower dosage to have a more graceful “ramp up” period.

Dettweiler42,

It’s easy. You cut down the quality of your products rapidly and start being recommended against by the people that used to buy your products.

Corsair used to be good. I enjoyed their products. However, their quality has plummeted over the past few years, and their iCue software is absolutely terrible. It will routinely crash, and completely lock up my keyboard and mouse.

Arrowhead CEO says Helldivers 2 balancing patches have 'gone too far' recently: 'It feels like every time someone finds something fun, the fun is removed' (www.pcgamer.com)

Replying to a player on Twitter who said recent patches have made the game “unplayable,” Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt conceded that he’s not satisfied with his studio’s current balancing approach....

Dettweiler42,

In its current state, HD2 has a fraction of the enemy types HD1 had. More will be coming as the story unfolds.

Dettweiler42,

Still try the higher temp, but bump up your retraction to counteract that. I went with the same move for printing silk to get cleaner layers, and it’s worked out really well.

Dettweiler42,

I’m definitely going to try the retraction speed (instead of distance) and no z-hop in the morning.

Dettweiler42,

Speaking candidly about business negotiations can harm a good working relationship if you say the wrong thing. You also don’t want to say anything that could be perceived as badmouthing the people that hold the keys to your success. He’s likely just trying to be careful while being as transparent as possible.

Dettweiler42,

It’s called “Not reading your fucking contract or doing due diligence for the people who paid for your product and then kicking the can to the people you signed a contract with.”

If people had read the bright yellow text above the buy button on the Steam store page or the EULA, the account linking announcement would not have been a surprise.

Dettweiler42,

That’s true. A little communication during the deactivation period could have gone a long way. I’m not surprised it was overlooked, all things considered.

Dettweiler42,

It seems a lot of people did not realize that this was an initial requirement when the game first launched, but it was suspended while they figured out server and stability issues.

Dettweiler42,

Right above the buy button on Steam, in yellow highlighted text, it has always said

Requires 3rd-Party Account: PlayStation Network (Supports Linking to Steam Account)

Dettweiler42,

It was deactivated while they were trying to sort out the server instability issues in the beginning. They announced it would eventually return, and it’s the main reason why the friends list has been messed up.

Windows 11 Start menu ads are now rolling out to everyone (www.theverge.com)

Microsoft is starting to enable ads inside the Start menu on Windows 11 for all users. After testing these briefly with Windows Insiders earlier this month, Microsoft has started to distribute update KB5036980 to Windows 11 users this week, which includes “recommendations” for apps from the Microsoft Store in the Start menu....

Dettweiler42,

My current full-stop is lack of support for a lot of peripherals, particularly music equipment.

Dettweiler42,

It’s really unfortunate. Native Instruments seems to almost refuse to support Linux.

Dettweiler42,

Before anyone gets excited, I took a look. Most of the positions posted pay $11-16/hr.

Dettweiler42,

Watched this while eating lunch. Good video.

Dettweiler42,

Double twisted safety wire. Makes it extra cursed.

Dettweiler42,

Anything is a dildo if you’re brave enough
