Donut,

Lol I was thinking of this one when I saw the thread title. Still, I don’t see a way to filter those out

Donut,

Well yeah it’s sarcastic, obviously 9 out of 10 times it’s adorable. But also really stupid in a funny way

Donut,

Nah it’s more stories like this post. A meme community to share kid stories that are a mix between dad/parent humor and absurd/illogical/stupid scenarios (through the lens of an adult, but makes perfect sense for the kid). Like this:

Donut, (edited )

Do we have a kidsarefuckingstupid community? We should

Edit: I guess people haven’t heard about the joke sub that posted silly stories about kids doing illogical things. Ya know, kids being kids.

I’m willing to settle for c/kidsarefuckingadorable if there is no similar community yet

Donut,

I was sooooo salty when SC III went PS2 exclusive. I mean not really but I was pretty bummed back then. Until I got a PS2 to go with my GameCube and Xbox, at least.

Soul Calibur was one of the few fighting games I really enjoyed because of the different weapons and stats they could have. It really set it apart from the other fighting games back then like DBZ, Bloody Roar, Mortal Kombat, etc.

The intro cinematics were pretty epic for their time too!

Donut,

She had served as the clerk without controversy for two decades as an elected Republican, and she flew a flag at her own home that read: “Trump 2024 — Take America Back.”

Seems it could go either way

Donut,

Why isn’t 32GB of RAM enough anymore? Is there anything you do with your PC that requires 64GB?

Donut,

It never was. It’s freedom of speech without having to fear governmental penalties, broadly speaking. Several categories like incitement, false advertising and CSAM should not be acceptable “speech”.

Donut,

You forgot the “take my upvote and” part

Donut,

It will take a while before we can shake off the redditisms, I think. But I’m with ya

Donut,

I also trust a blue check Xitter squirrel over a nation’s leader

Donut,

They are just covering what a rando on Xitter is saying. Sadly this is the news cycle nowadays:

Unverified / unknown person posts a claim on X > “news” websites write a 6 paragraph article about this single post

And instead of being critical, people just gobble up anything as if it was true.

I have a level that is a tribute to The Stanley Parable in my game, here is my progress. Any feedback? (lemmy.world)

My game is called Do Not Press The Button (To Delete The Multiverse) and in it I have a multiverse called A Universe Where This Game Was Made By People With Actual talent and it’s a “What If” the Crow Crows Crows guy made my game. I think it’s turning out good. What do you think? Here is my Steam Page

Donut,

Is the level in the demo? Gonna check it out regardless, I love games that are meta and turn themselves inside out

Donut,

$600 fine, wow. This guy should spend a few nights in jail instead.

Donut,

Keyword being “trying”

Donut, (edited )

Could have made Darwin proud that day. Alas, a slap on the wrist in the form of a $600 fine and they live to harass another whale in the future.

Really should have gotten some time in a cell to reflect on his stupidity

Donut, (edited )

The Monaco GP should be in karts or something, as the current track and regulations combination doesn’t allow for a good race. You can’t deny the history of the track but it’s been boring for a while. Race usually ends in how they qualified.

Donut,

Maybe fear was too big of a word, but people generally try to avoid being rejected by their peers. It might not mean anything online in the grand scheme of things, but social media has tapped into our psyche to keep us coming back for more positive interactions.

Donut,

I actually don’t like the upvote / downvote system. It can manipulate users into posting comments that are generally thought to be more accepted for fear of getting downvoted otherwise.

I’m fine with it working under the hood and ranking comments based on the numbers, but the fact that everyone can see it all makes it more like an echo chamber.

Personally I only upvote comments that I really, really enjoy or replies that are on topic and constructive. Downvotes are for comments that are confidently incorrect, rude or nonsensical.

Anything in between I just don’t vote on it. At least theres no “karma” that’s linked with your profile on here. That would make it a game of chasing numbers like other sites.

Donut,

Has what you said been proven and documented anywhere? All I can find is threads of people claiming things, but no actual (investigative) journalism that covers these parts.

Toggling on data collection without informing the user would mean billions of dollars worth of fines in Europe, so I doubt that happens regularly. Still, I don’t mind being proven wrong if you got the proof to back it up

Donut,

I agree with the general sentiment but it literally says it will update outside of active hours. So as non-disruptive as possible.

And the privacy toggles are set when you install the OS. You can untick all of them the last time I checked.

Sorry for being such a pedant

Donut,

When I click on the example I see 0 comments, but based on what you’re describing I think I’m glad

Donut,

Good to know, thanks. I’ll keep to the actual board game

Donut,

What’s the point in sharing paywalled articles?
