Evening Jam 12 - First recorded jam with EP133. Featuring: Volca FM2 + Roland S1 (sampled) - YouTube (youtube.com)

This is my first recorded Jam with the EP133. I have really mixed feelings about the EP133. On one hand its really fun to play around with, and make cool beats, but at the same time i find the Live performance experience to be, tricky at best. It requires way to many simultaneous button presses to perform things, and there are...

It’s not the guy in the trenchcoat next to you you need to worry about.

It’s the fact that some unknown entity owns/has set up the WiFi.

Anyone working with complex network setup and admin will tell you how much you can abuse owning the network a user is connected to.

The network guys at work never use public WiFi, not hotels or anything. Neither do I, even with my much more limited knowledge of network administration.

Evening Jam 11 - First Jam with the Exquis - #dawless - C.Tracks, Roland S1, Exquis,Zebralette3 - YouTube (youtube.com)

This was a really fun setup. I just recently got the Intuitive Instruments Exquis and this is my first real Jam with it. The expressiveness of the Exquis combined with the nice flow working with the Circuit tracks made this setup very fun to work with.

The thing is its only the copyrights of individual artists and creators that will die to this.

The big corpos will find a way to protect their value, just you wait.

They will steal from every single creative in the world and then sue them to hell and back if they use anything they them selves “own”

This is not a threat to the copyrights that you want to die.

Well they do… But only barely and less so in the US lately.

There are still cases of small artists getting compensation for big business using their images or music without consent. But sadly it is far from the norm.

I agree with your core sentiment. Copyright is not working how it was intended and it is being abused by corporations.

It might be because I’m not American, or because I am a musician and songwriter myself. but I still see a point to having some laws protecting the rights of the creative mind behind something.

Removing copyright completely will only make it even more easy for the guys with the money and resources to exploit the small independent creators.

But (American) copyright is severely broken. This is true.

A starting point would be that the right is only tied to the specific creative(s) actually involved in the creation of something.

What I find interesting is how often statements like this that are trying to unify the working class (or whatever you end up calling it) just derails into semantics instead of actually people bringing out the pitchforks and shouting “eat the rich”

We are all fucked.

I hope someday we'll find a way to pirated a car (lemmy.world)

In the end, the KIA car company made its cars into subscription models, I really hate this because in the end the car we buy with our own money doesn’t feel like it belongs to us. Should we finally buy an old school car ? so as not to be affected by this subscription models or is there a way to crack the software installed in...

I have a 2018 Passat car net works just fine.

I had to contact the dealer to have them activate the eSIM in the car and register an account their site via the app. (Pretty standard stuff)

And yes it’s a subscription like this for locating the car, updating navdata online and remote heating + charging info. (It’s a hybrid)

Well… I say “just fine” their app is slow and unstable. But everything worked nicely with an unofficial home assistant integration. And when VW moved everything over to their new app, it continued to work on my old car, and it took the HA community about a week to sort most of the new API out.

It’s not perfect, but it does technically work, even on their older models. I can still download and install updated maps on it too for the onboard nav. (Though i usually just use Android auto…)

Even if you decided not to find out how to get it working, doesn’t mean it’s abandoned.

All that being said this is one of many genuine reasons to be concerned about this trend. And a good reason for people that write about and review cars to care about the software in the cars, the support you can expect, and the companys track record when it comes to supporting older models.

And like others have stated. The BMW example with the heated seats is just… rotten.

Breach of trademark, not copyright, whole different barrel of fish.

The thing is… I think a lot of people don’t know that they have uefi support…

I have had the same windows install and motherboard (AMD is so great with long term socket support) for years, and figuring out how to change my bios and os setting so that I got a propper uefi boot was non-trivial.

Uefi has been a thing for a long time, but it’s not been the default for motherboards afaik. So you have had to go into bios and find the right settings.

Quote me after dealing with print drivers acting up and spooler service crashes for the nth time that day (also worked in it support for several years):

“We can land men on the moon, but somehow getting a printer, a technology that has existed litteraly since before computers had screens, to work is still complete and utter black magic…!”

Let’s hope Apple puts their “privacy first” money where their mouth is.

Sadly I do however think the ability to further lock down and control what uses can see and access might be just as tempting for them…

Love it so far on my phone.

On my tablet I really wish there was a “2-pane post view” as in spreading the posts out across my tablet screen to view more at the same time. (see for instance thunder for an 3xample on how this could look)

While I appreciate the intent behind the tablet view in sync it doesn’t suit my needs as much as just scrolling through more posts would do. :)

It has its own terms for a very good reason.

It’s relative to the boat, so that if you are standing on deck and looking back everyone knows what you mean and not if you are talking about your reative left or the boats.

This. I bet lemmings (this is the correct term. Fite me!) Can come up with 1) better guesses and 2) back these guesses better up with market and production understanding then most of these techsites generating clicks for minimal effort articles.

Im pretty sure Nintendo has decided against a browser. Keeping a browser up to date, compatible and secure is a pretty big job these days.

Considering that the browser has been a point of ingress for hacking their devices several times and that use is minimal we won’t see a full browser any time soon unless something has really changed on the management team of the switch os recently

As far as os features go, propper folders and sorting options on par with the 3DS would be higher on my list.

Don’t get me wrong, personally I could see a lot of use cases for streaming video etc… But I don’t think it is a realistic wish at this point.

Still miss my pebble…

Rocked a Garmin a few years, now I’m trying galaxy watch 5 pro. Miss the week long battery but 2+ days is “ok”, a lot less annoying then I first thought it would be.

Exelent integration with my phone is a big plus. (For instance the Garmin never let me respond to alarms from the Samsung clock app :/ )

Moved on to the second character in the campaign now. So far it’s a great port.

I loved this game back on ds, but never finished it cause other games took focus. So far the port seems just like I remember the game. (Except for exelent new visuals)

Only “minus” so far is no touch input, but it’s not a big minus at all and most players won’t even think about it.

Electricblush,
@Electricblush@lemmy.world avatar

My guess is that this version is based on the other console versions of the game, and they didn’t think of it.

it’s perfectly fine without, but touch would make it playable one handed.

Some reviews and summarises calling it a “match 3”-game is really doing the gameplay a disservice. While it has elements of such games (you do match three to create attacks/blocks) it’s different enough to be interesting even if you don’t traditionally enjoy match 3 games.

It’s a nice puzzle/strategy game with enough depth without getting to complecated.

Hope you find it enjoyable if you end up getting it at some point :)

Played this on DS ages ago. Instant purchase for me, really solid little puzzler. Never completely finished it on DS, not cause i got tired of it but other games got my focus. Ready to try to finish it completely this time.
