Most of those are irrelevant or fall under “shit happens” and “shut definitely happens when you are doing new stuff”. Who cares if BAT is volatile? You don’t have to hold BAT because it can be traded for other currencies as needed. By when you need abs sell when you need. If you need large enough quantities where it’s going to make a difference then that means some aspect of it is actually working.

I can see not wanting to use it for the same reason one would not got to Chick-fil-A.

The only point on that list that really holds universal weight is the second from the last. Except that it’s broken to because “was involved” is not the same as “is involved”. They stopped doing that. So unless one believes they would do it or something similar again now that extra attention is in them it’s irrelevant to current usage.

Not entirely accurate. When you remove Garfield you get some existential vibes. I started removing Heathcliff from Heathcliff when I realized that he is completely unnecessary for “the joke” most of the time. When you say that these edits “look like normal comics” you are completely proving my point. If it reads like a normal comic without the “main character” even being there then it shows that he adds nothing to the situation. Now this isn’t always true but it’s true often enough. This comic is an example of that. The characters speaking is the same, the subject they are talking about is the same. Heathcliff brings nothing so it’s “just a normal comic” not a Heathcliff comic. Removing him doesn’t add anything but it also takes away nothing.

When you remove Garfield you end up with some existential content. When you remove Heathcliff you usually get a comic strip that works exactly the same as if he was there because he typically adds nothing to the joke. So it’s not trying to be like G-G. It’s goal and result are completely different.

I noticed that in the vast majority of modern Heathcliff comics Heathcliff’s presence isn’t essential to the comic. When you remove Garfield from Garfield you frequently get existential results. Heathcliff without Heathcliff almost always works out being exactly the same level of absurdism as you had before.

Occasionally I’ll change the text, add something else or remove something but normally I just remove him. My goal isn’t to make them better, just remove Heathcliff. It takes at most minutes a day most of the time. I don’t typically do the Sunday editions because those are more work and are often several panels to set up a very underwhelming joke. So instead for Sunday’s I amtry to add Heathcliff to something he isn’t in.

Gravity is the weakest of the fundamental forces. Unbelievably weak. At the scale they are operating on it has zero effect compared to the electromagnetic force. At that scale quantum effects are a much larger influence than gravity. If you, or anyone, figures out how to tie macro gravity and subatomic gravity into one coherent theory then there will be a Nobel Prize waiting.

According to Google Maps the fastest route from Turkey to the alps is 24 days by foot. He would have left everything he knew about the world to get there. He wasn’t just an adventurer but a world traveler.
