Someone asked "are you all right?" as I passed them in the office carrying a cup of tea. I said "I think so" ruefully. Then I glanced down and saw I'd been so preoccupied I hadn't put any milk in.

Pannier clip snapped so stuffed the pannier under rear rack spring clip, obscuring light, so thank you everyone for driving considerately & to the 3 who took the time to lower their windows and roar "LOIGHTS" in their charming Dorset accents as they white-vanned past. As if I wasn't aware, sonny.

  1. My keep-your-clothes-flat-&-dry technology, improvised from corrugated cardboard and a bin liner, worked.

  2. I concentrated so hard on (1) but managed to deal with one of the consequences, which was not taking any clean underwear to work. I will not be commenting further on this matter.

  1. Leaving the cabin after work this evening I could see my way home without a torch. Something tangible re: longer evenings.

  1. Realised that when people ask me insincerely how I am, I can answer "I'm looking like a true survivor. And feeling like a little kid."

  2. Was about to tap up someone for a new role at work when she said no, she's announcing her pregnancy today and will not be available in the time-frame. 😆 (For clarity this is an "I'm happy for her" toot.)

  3. Roach Minor was under the weather yesterday but today, sarcasm levels are back to normal.

  1. After adding sealant, the bike-lane grit-gash in my tyre sealed itself & held up. Commuting is now over for the week.

  2. The Setback has shown me who my IRL friends are, one stopped by earlier to see how I was and lent a sympathetic ear. Also I delivered my appeal against The Setback today, so ✌️.

  3. Roach Major is adjusting well to the next part of their Gap Yah which is amazing to "witness".

  4. I can list four things in this toot and ignore the consequences.

  1. Vittoria Airliner inserts that mean your tubeless tyres on your commuter bike are essentially run-flats even when you hit some sharp but of grit washed onto the cycle path from the road.

  2. I can appeal a decision that was a setback, with nothing to lose.

  3. First milestone of three on a job ticked off, or at least, drafted ans handed over to someone else to think about.

  1. We've a diagnosis for an ill family member which, while serious, is slightly better than our confused ignorance. I'm counting this as a Good Thing. There will be Specialists, and Care Pathways, and Support. Yay NHS.

  2. After brooding for 36 hours on an unpleasant surprise, I've written down how I feel and what I can do about it. So my mood's lifted a bit. A bit.

  3. Developer won't appeal planning decision that went against them... 6 years respite at least.

  1. Got a warmer bike ride this afternoon 4C minimum. End of a 3 week training block, recovery next week. Have roughly worked out how to fit intervals into my commute.

  2. Paramedics (I will not be taking questions on this)

  3. Finally hung up some of our oldest and dearest pictures so our room feels more like ours and not an anonymous box

  1. Work is awesome for bike commuting. Covered bike storage, locker room, showers, and a canteen that does breakfast. And (bonus) Lisa the canteen lady today reverted to calling my order "the usual" which means after 3 weeks going back to work more regularly, we are definitely back.

  2. Still dry for the commute despite -5C temperatures, and if there was any frost on the cycle paths this morning it was too dark to see it.

  1. Went to the wrong branch of the dentist but had plenty of time to correct my stupidity, and the receptionist rang ahead, and the dentist was running late (or very good at putting me at my ease).

Hey mastodon, looking to crowdsource a snappy name for a small AirBnB in Highcliffe, please let me have your suggestions 😀

It's a 1 bed 2 person annex to our house with bedroom, living area, kitchen and bathroom.

The first bit of trainage arrived!

It's not the right colours for 1983-86 but I need something to scoot about to make sure the track lays properly, and I can always sell it on or repaint it.

Also congratulations to the supplier for using just the right amount of packaging.
