I'm pondering whether to celebrate National Patronising Old Man Week, by replying to ten adverts a day that I see on facebook with something along the lines of "Aw bless you. Good luck with your little advert!". I can't decide whether to add "Love, Dad" to the end or not.

Today's productivity has been shared between

  • Goat Simulator on the console with Roach Minimus
  • Changing an inner tube and adjusting some cantilever brakes
  • Picking up some dog poo and walking the dog
  • Sitting with the family while they watch A Place In The Sun, Caribbean edition

Five hours afterwards my legs have turned to jelly so I'm going to sit down and eat something before I do anything else.

A nice 100k around the Forest but most of it targeting tempo pace or higher.

Too busy to have lunch (but not to toot) as a major work presentation is 15 min away so Mrs Roach has brought me a picnic ❤️ and now I will present very badly as I drift into a post prandial doze.

Today in house extensions, we had a portaloo delivered, a load of timber, and five hours of what could perfectly well be considered as two poltergeists in the attic. Vindicated our choice not to start until exams were over!

Lucky with the light at Compton Bay in my round-the-South-Island bike ride yesterday - before all the (other) tourists got out of bed.

The first bit of trainage arrived!

  2. I had a handkerchief in my pocket for Mrs Roach's not unexpected tears.

  3. Rode to Waitrose to restock the prepper hoard of the world's best mass-produced marmalade and the thin drawstring bag didn't rip on the ride home.

for today

  1. We've a diagnosis for an ill family member which, while serious, is slightly better than our confused ignorance. I'm counting this as a Good Thing. There will be Specialists, and Care Pathways, and Support. Yay NHS.

  2. After brooding for 36 hours on an unpleasant surprise, I've written down how I feel and what I can do about it. So my mood's lifted a bit. A bit.

  3. Developer won't appeal planning decision that went against them... 6 years respite at least.

It's Sunday which means it's time for me to ask @wild1145 whether Sundays are normally the quietest day on mastodonuk? It feels like it. Or.maybe I just follow people that have better things to do on a Sunday!
