@Cassandra it is a carryover from twittre, where the TL moved faster and people literally forgot what they said 6 hours ago.
I appreciate the difference here.
But crashing into a convo hours or days later when I get around to seeing something can still sometimes be a real non-sequitur in your mentions. And when I do, I often get lurker’s remorse, the self-conscious realization that being out of time can come across as awkward at best, rude at worst.

@Cassandra and the important part for me is that I don’t even look at how far I am behind most of the time until after I have chimed in, and never* mean to be aggro or unkind despite my natural tendency to sarcasm that often outpaces my writing ability.

*I don’t think I have posted in anger at another user here yet, but there will come a time the temptation will get me.

@Cassandra I hope for empathy and understanding wherever people interact. But I see how sadly little empathy people seem to employ all too often. My radical vision is that we could build a paradise together if we all understood and acted like we were struggling together against different but valid problems and challenges.
