[#DORN : Objective #Moon] This Friday, May 3, at around 11 a.m., the Chang' E6 mission will lift off towards the Moon with the DORN instrument on board, designed at IRAP under the supervision of @cnes This mission marks the return of #France to the Moon!

Several stages will mark this mission: lift-off, placing in orbit around the Moon, lunar landing, commissioning of on-board instruments, return of samples to Earth.

History of [ (3/3)] From now on, there's no need to wait for the next total and to travel the globe to observe it: the development, on the ground and in space, of - a technique invented in 1931 by Bernard Lyot - makes it possible to reproduce this celestial phenomenon.

Histoire [ (2/3)] Ce lundi, une éclipse totale de se produira au-dessus du continent nord-américain. La solaire sera alors visible à l'oeil nu et devrait ressembler à l'image ci-dessous, d'après les chercheurs du Predictive Science Inc.

Ces derniers ont conçu un 3D de la couronne solaire basé sur diverses données d'observation, au sol et dans l'espace - issues notamment de la sonde de l'ESA.

[#SpaceSuccess] Following ESA's de-icing operation, the #Euclid satellite has gained 15% in optical sensitivity!

All satellites are assembled on Earth, in clean rooms whose humidity is close to 50°C. As it is propelled into space, its various components gradually cool down... and water condenses. On March 5, @IRAP delivered the functional electrical model of the Low-Energy Electron Spectrometer (1 eV-1 keV) which is part of the (Dust, Fields, Particles) experiment. The future is on the way! 👍
