Why do sci-fi artists design aerodynamic spaceships like mother ships that are never going to land? Aerodynamics really doesn't matter a whole lot in space.
Also, why would these ships need a discernable top and bottom? There is no real up or down for most of your interstellar travel.
@Cassandra I personally would either have artificial gravity from rotation with the shortest radius from the axis as the lowest floor number.
Or maybe use the acceleration of the ship for artificial gravity (like some authors and other people on here suggested) with the lowest floor number being the one toward the end of the ship that faces the direction of acceleration. Ie., up is the opposite direction to the direction of acceleration in this case.

For the record, I very often do recognize asymmetries others don't.

@Cassandra I ended up watching the one where Geordi and Ro get phased and no one can see them. I liked that one, but I never understood it. They can walk through walls, but they don't fall through the floor. Also, they can somehow still breathe.
I have a lot of special characters memorized (ALT-[key] for windows and long presses for Android) but why is it so needlessly difficult to Google each one individually? Surely someone, somewhere must have compiled a good table of all of them. It would sure come in handy.

Yes. That works and I have done that before, but for some reason it loads extremely slowly. It is actually faster for me to just bookmark a webpage.
This has got to be the most evil hold pattern ever conceived. I have to keep pressing a button every 30 seconds to let them know I'm still on hold. WTH??
