Spotify CEO Daniel Ek surprised by how much laying off 1,500 employees negatively affected the streaming giant’s operations (fortune.com)

When Spotify announced its largest-ever round of layoffs in December, CEO Daniel Ek hailed a new age of efficiency at the streaming giant. But four months on, it seems he and his executives weren’t prepared for how tough filling in for 1,500 axed workers would be....

Johnvanjim,

This dude shaves… (Also, seconded to everything said)

Johnvanjim, (edited )

Upvote for Sturgil Simpson, that guy rocks

Johnvanjim,

There is always money in the banana stand

Why Americans are bummed out about the economy (www.cnn.com)

US consumers remain unimpressed with this progress, however, because they remember what they were paying for things pre-pandemic. Used car prices are 34% higher, food prices are 26% higher and rent prices are 22% higher than in January 2020, according to our calculations using PCE data....

Johnvanjim,

Dollar cost averaging baby!

Johnvanjim, (edited )

Dollar cost averaging, as in contribute regularly, you’ll buy when things cost less you’ll buy when things cost more it won’t matter over time.

Just keep contributing and the numbers will go up over time.

Johnvanjim,

Hypocrisy, all the fricking hypocrisy.

My uncle runs a Christian Megachirch and he is the worst family member I’ve ever met, narcissistic, selfish and generally concerned mostly about money. I left for college, left all the religion behind and never looked back.

Johnvanjim,

I spaced out that there was a second season of Wha If… released, I’m really digging the vibe on it this year, some great episodes in there!

Johnvanjim,

As always, that Pitch Meeting hits every major point perfectly. I fell asleep trying to get through this movie twice.

Johnvanjim,

Feels a lot like the Japanese Compact car invasion after the Oil Embargo of the 70’s. They came in and wiped the floor with the lazy, large, more expensive gas guzzlers that the US automakers were cranking out. Changed the whole game…

Johnvanjim,

Yeah, looks like a lazy rewrite, I did find the link to the actual visual data - creditnews.com/…/real-time-student-debt-tracker/

Johnvanjim,

“It is more difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven, than a camel to pass through the eye of a needle.”

I don’t know, seems vague…

Johnvanjim,

My man’s about to get paid granted it’s gonna be taxpayer money, but Jesus…

Johnvanjim,

Prusa Slicer does have a “Purge to Infill” option that removes a lot of this waste. Unfortunately, Bambu printers are infamous for their poop problems…

Johnvanjim,

Came to upvote this, some of the funniest writing and acting on a show that just gets better with time

Johnvanjim,

Season 1 was amazing, I felt let down by S02 and haven’t seen S03, although I hear it’s a bit of a return to the glory that was Season 1

Johnvanjim,

Wait for the next sequel, “let’s remake both movies, but hotter”

Johnvanjim,

ile now, it’s clear to me that Prusa sat on its hands for too long. The P1S is fantastic, involves virtually no setup, and gives me out-of-the-box prints better than my MK3S ever gave me even after months of fine tuning. I can’t imagine a world where Bambu doesn’t significantly erode Prusa’s market share.

Came here to second this, I run a print farm of primarily MK3’s and MK4’s and have recently added a P1S due to my MMU’s all dying at the same time (not that they were worth much of a damn before then), the P1S “Just works” and beautifully I might add. I switched over all my multicolor prints to the P1S and have been impressed with better results than with those in the MK3+MMU2S environment. I’m also really starting to like the app and connectivity of the machine. Considering the price of the P1S with the AMS being <= than a MK4 Let alone with the MMU add on, I’d say go for it.

Johnvanjim,

It’s a Prusa Mini, so probably not. Quality parts and thermal runaway protection and all that…

Johnvanjim,

Sure, then we look at which nut job started the problem, and a jury of his peers figured out that it wasn’t the shooter

Johnvanjim,

Get fit by finding something you enjoy that gets your heart going, track your spending, learn cook healthy meals, listen well and develop empathy. Good things will come.

Johnvanjim,

I thought the animation itself was great, but the direction/pacing was a bit to slow. It felt more like a mood piece rather than a series of action vignettes. I still liked the general idea and it was neat to see the Necrons being… well, themselves, but yeah, I wish there was a bit more professional direction to the story.

Johnvanjim,

Not to mention that particular passage was added to the bible hundreds of years after it was assembled by a random scribe scribbling in the margins, they don’t even understand the nature of their sacred text… (Check out Misquoting Jesus, excellent read…)
