This commandment, widely considered to be the first one, where God specifically confirms the existence of other gods, but says he’s ‘number one’ out of all of them, always seemed to me, a weird thing to find in the texts of a monotheistic religion.

It’s pretty clear that they have thought ahead and they actively desire that outcome, in contradiction to the will of the rest of the people.

That pictured group explicitly want to commit Human Rights violations in the name of their colonial belief system.

They probably just falsely assume they can’t lose, due to their misplaced faith in God.

Educating them on the finer points of their religion and educating them on the concept of Human Rights is the only way to make progress.

Ask of them: do you desire global nuclear apocalypse, a la Post-WW2 mutually assured destruction, and see where the conversations go.

Decoding the Gurus going is not something i particularly enjoy. I did appreciate some of their earlier episodes on Peterson, Rogan, Weinberg etc. But ever since that interview with Helen Lewis (TERF) and now Matt Johnsohn (free speech absolutist), i think they are fast sliding into radicalized centrism.

My position is this. That probably the best way of affecting radical change, using the current system, is for enough people to vote with integrity. It is to not accept being corrupted by a corrupt system.

The most likely scenario here, would be the appearance of greater division, and a hung parliament, either a minority government (which places the government in a weak position bit that is actually a good thing as they are more likely to be affected by the will of the people in order to gain power) or a coalition.

If this then continues, people stand by the principles. It is likely to get a government shift its position on voting reform in order to find something that works better in this new seemingly fragmented political landscape.

It’s an appearance of greater fragmentation though, the division would still be there otherwise, just with a veneer of being United, as people keep voting for things they don’t actually want.

@siobhansarelle @Dziadek Check out the Einstein-Freud Theory of War; Freud identified a (non-Marxian, etc) theoretical dynamic of rulers with advantages to rights and the perpetual battle by the ruled for equal rights.

That is the basis for Human Rights, proper, as invented by the UN in 1948.
