I’m hearing a lot of complaints about iPadOS. Some people would even like to run macOS on iPads.
My take: Not much is really missing from iPadOS—except openness. If it were as open as macOS (without being macOS), I could use (without tricks):
– Homebrew + Terminal
– Visual Studio Code
@rauschma I really like the Apple HW, but I am not a fan of iOS, nor am I really a fan of MacOS. I am hoping for a powerful new ARM tablet that runs Android or Windows. If I could, I would run only Windows for ARM on my MBP M1.
So, this was released today. My third stamp with Canada Post. Qarlinngua (The pants). And technically my second stamp with a family member in it, as the tiny figure in it is my son Travis. Now for one with Hilary in it.

Listen, if you’re a white person, and you think you’ve had Szechuan food, you probably haven’t.
Most of the Szechuan restaurants in the USA lack a basic component: spiciness.
I say this because a friend from out of town just went to a Szechuan restaurant in Vancouver, thought it was going to be business as usual, and now he’s doubled over because the spice is too much for him.
He tells me, it’s so bad, that he feels the spice eking out of his pores. 🤣
@atomicpoet Here, there are not that many, so they usually ask if you want mild, medium or strong. The mild feels pretty hot for a Norwegian palate, and medium is barely tolerable for me who like it spicy. Strong is way over my limits.
@heckj@finestructure I'm on Xbox. Did almost all the major quest lines, but had most fun with some of the odd side quests. Completed the main quest line, but chose not to "cross over". Didn't do outpost building much. A lot of untapped potential in that game. Feels unfinished.
@heckj@finestructure It probably would be really hard to manage temperature, radiation,as well as corrosive resistances. It explains why you can store many suits in the spaceship.
