I also use lemmy (voyager app is awesome) but kbin also has an awesome app called Artemis, which got inspired by apollo for reddit.

I started thinking about how much they’d actually make with this monetization scheme, but they employ 6 software developers and have a team of 4 in the upper management. The company has been running for 10 years with this single product.

How to demonstrate to people the importance of privacy by showing the data collected about them?

I wish to convince my friends and family to avoid using privacy-invading ad-based services and apps. Seeing people discuss how much data these companies collect off of us, I want to know if there is a way you could get a sample of that data by yourself and show it to them for them to realize the gravity of the situation...

I know that long time ago this was one of the things that freaked me out. I went into google account privacy settings and there is a lot of info about you. It really creeps you out when you see info from years ago.

Ei ainakaan matkustajalentokoneessa.

Finnair Cargo:lta en kysynyt, että onnistuisiko siellä jotenkin kuljettaa nuo (en tiedä onko heillä eri olosuhteet rahdille). Mutta tuo rahtaaminen taitaa maksaa aika paljon ja mielummin ostan sitten ulkomailla uudet näyttövarret.

Lisäksi posti ilmoitti, että mitään lentämiseen epäkelvollista eivät suostu kuljettamaan.

Epäilen, että noissa näyttövarsissa ei oikeasti ole mitään oikeaa kaasua, koska miten muuten olisin saanut postissa ruotsalaisen firman näyttövarret alkuunkaan? Mutta ei ole tuotedokumenteissa mitään muuta mainintaa kuin “kaasujousi” ja en halua selvitellä lentokentällä näitä.

Päivän extra: posti ei suostu tarjoamaan helposti särkyvä -kuljetuspalvelua PC:lle ulkomaille lähetettäessä (ainakaan keski-eurooppaan). Lähetän PC:n sitten hyvin pakattuna ja toivon parasta :(
