I’m so tired of the misinformation about Monero being traced to catch Finnish hacker. The hacker just had one of the worst opsecs imagineable and .tar’ed his entire home directory when trying to upload the information on the dark web, and ended up as a result, uploading his entire home directory. Once you do that it becomes pretty easy to identify who the fuck you are and track you down. Here is a video by mental outlaw going more in depth.https://youtu.be/7CD_Nl3iwhE&t=0
I am not a crypto bro myself and personally don’t see volatile cryptocurrency as a solution but I’m tired of hearing “Monero traced back to its user” NO. Monero USER was found because of OTHER bad opsec practices.
Specifically, Mozilla plans to scale back its investment in a number of products, including its VPN, Relay and, somewhat remarkably, its Online Footprint Scrubber, which launched only a week ago. Mozilla will also shut down Hubs, the 3D virtual world it launched back in 2018, and scale back its investment in its mozilla.social...
I hope Mozilla VPN doesnt get shut down because its pretty much Mullvad but you are also helping Mozilla. I also like their relay because their domain is not as blacklisted as simplelogin and addy.io are
where is the proof for that? they literally use Mullvad’s servers as far as I know. Don’t spread something bizzare like that ig you don’t have evidence
edit: are you talking about the mail relay? in that case, email is by default not private and goes through many servers that can read your emails. The only real benefit of using a private email like Proton is that your mailbox is encrypted and that if you happen to email another person whos set up PGP then your email would be a little private. and the benefit of using an alias is to simply not have a common identifier through your email address online when using different services. But if you want to send something super confidential that you don’t want jumping through Google Microsoft and Amazon’s servers, don’t use ANY email. Period.
It literally uses Mullvad’s servers. The only shortcoming is that it requires an account and there is no way to pay with Monero or cash, like most other VPNs. But I just used an alias email and a visa gift card so still pretty anonymous I would say
Try OpenSuse Tumbleweed. Very stable from my experience, ships with KDE that can be installed during the installer, and its file system is BTRFS which automatically takes snapshots so if a system update ever breaks your install which is not common on OpenSuse, you can just roll it back to an older snapshot and boom your system is all good again.
Hi everyone! Since I was absolutely fucked by Skiff (thank fuck I didn’t pay for it) I’m looking for a new email provider :) I’m not sure I like how proton is transforming into a full on suit, I only need email. Any other recommendations or is proton my only choice really?
You should checkout CryptPad. Not sure if it is exactly what you are looking for but it is pretty much an online office suite privacy respecting based in France
I tried to think very hard for OpenSuse TW but there honestly is nothing, other than maybe not shipping duplicate apps (e.g. two camera apps) with the ISO.
