MolochAlter,

Several genocides are going on right now, and have been for decades, almost like it’s got nothing to do with who’s in charge in the US or something.

MolochAlter,

No, it’s a European telling you to stop believing your own hype.

The US is not the center of the universe, your support matters but you alone are not the factor that is going to save or doom Palestine.

Vote based on what’s best for your own country and realise that we neither expect you nor want you to solve everything you deem to be an issue.

MolochAlter,

Not really, the two things are not connected the way you think they are.

If anything, Israel cares about western approval enough to at least put up the appearance of propriety, if that approval were to be lost either way I have no doubt they’d just drop all pretense and purge the contested areas at once.

It’s abundantly clear that we the west are the last people involved in this who care about Palestinian survival (other than Palestinians obviously), their neighbours care only insofar as it keeps Israel busy and weakened internally, but they do nothing to help them (and with reason, since the attempted coup in Jordan), I don’t want to find out what happens when we step aside, do you?

MolochAlter,

Not breaking away from the stardom curse of injuries I see

MolochAlter,

Schooling is

  1. Targeted at children, who are famously awful at conceptualising consequences, so given a chance to slack off they most likely will.
  2. Mandatory, so there is no risk of losing your ability to get an education.
  3. Not directly related to earning and quality of life in the immediate future.

Schooling and work are not congruous at all. The people participating are too different, they’re there for different reasons, and they get a different payoff with a different timing on its turnaround.

Remote work translates to being able to take your coffee break at home and possibly do a load of laundry while you’re waiting for a reply on an email, and being able to do a grocery run instead of commuting at the end of the day. Otherwise for most jobs it’s fundamentally identical or straight up better.

MolochAlter,

I think every single person on lemmy might have posted in the thread. Hello, Montagge!

MolochAlter,

Then don’t act coy about wanting to make games as if that’s the driving force behind you being CEO of a studio.

Be honest and say "yeah, we have contractual obligations and this is one of them, sucks that they are mismanaging it but we have to abide by it because they gave us a bajillion dollars, and we gotta keep the lights on. Hopefully they’ll change their minds.”

The reality is that they mismanaged this severely, they should have either held off the launch or made it abundantly clear that this was temporary and it would have been mandatory in a few months, not whatever the fuck this was.

And it should have never been possible for people in non-psn countries to buy the game in the first place.

MolochAlter,

I use names off the list of 22 fallen angels from the Book of Enoch.

It’s a really interesting piece of hebrew apocrypha that details the circumstances leading to the flood. Feels much more high fantasy/pagan myth than the modern bible/torah.

MolochAlter,

Isn’t Nanae, Fuka, and Rossy the same trio that started Stardom back in the day? Or am I mixing Rossy and the joshi who had beef with Asuka?

Either way, man, Rossy went for the heavy hitters with his poaching.

Japanese indie dev tells randoms begging for keys and offering exposure to 'buy it, you piece of garbage' (www.pcgamer.com)

In a recent FAQ spotted by Automaton, Housenka responded to a hypothetical of “I’ll promote you, give me a Steam key” with a delightfully blunt: “Buy it, you piece of garbage.” Or, as Automaton translates it from the original Japanese, “Buy the game, you piece of sh*t.” I can’t decide which I like better,...

MolochAlter,

The best thing is he apparently actually didn’t get the fish sticks joke which, if true, makes Parker and Stone the best satirists of all time on merits.

MolochAlter,

Man, they could have made this into a modder’s paradise and make it a mainstay in wrestling games.

Instead they made crappier no mercy with a roster years out of date and somehow a more limited CAW system.

I was so hoping for a good mechanical backbone to put mods over without the insufferable limitations of the wwe games but apparently aew hates money.

MolochAlter,

I think a big problem is objective value over culture fit.

Punk may have been a big name and high value, but I remember wondering back then if it was worth derailing Hangman’ story over a nostalgia act (I wasn’t into wrestling back when Punk was a big deal) instead of focussing on the emotional core of the main event scene and properly using the momentum behind him.

The reality is that some people have too much of an ego to be good team players and should not be picked up even if they’re big names.

I work at a company where our hiring philosophy is absolutely geared towards culture fit over performance, and it has worked for us tremendously, and we just develop software, trust isn’t all that important yet we have it in spades. Meanwhile in a business where people risk death or injury regularly they seem to go with skill over fit most of the time. Baffling really, especially in the age of social media where a modicum of skill and some savvy can carry anyone to great heights.

I mean one of the breakout stars of Joshi of late is a girl whose gimmick is being rude and having a big head, everything is possible.

MolochAlter,

IMO it’s always kinda been a “oh people think I’m a narcissist but I’m really not, I just play one” from his perspective, but from everyone else’s it was “you sure go full method on that performance though”.

MolochAlter,

Man’s lucky this was in the UK cause it’s definitely grounds for assault and battery charges.

MolochAlter,

That’s what I meant, it’s 2 American citizens and nobody called the police, it’d be funny but why would they bother?

MolochAlter,

Priorities™

MolochAlter,

In no universe does saying something justify assaulting a coworker, this is basic kindergarten level shit.

MolochAlter,

We’re very eager to protest but realistically it’s not his side that’s arguing against it so they can more or less safely ignore the protests until the region and township administrators start actually going against it, which is quite possibly going to happen if this measure is unpopular enough.

MolochAlter,

The problem with that stance is that you can’t refuse service based on protected characteristics, and afaik that includes access to a space, hence why the “gentlemen’s club” died but the country club did not.

I’m all for reintroducing these practices since the people clamouring for them are also going to be the ones fucked over in the end, but I am also white (by American standards anyway) and male, so there’s basically no downside for me.

It would be a monkey paw levels of funny to reintroduce the legal ability to self segregate as a means to “protect” women and minorities, only to see a complete shitshow as women executives are cut out of meetings taking place at men only spaces, and black people are even more segregated out, etc.

Obviously, it would be horrendous for the average sane person who doesn’t want any of this, but it would make for a really funny few years for the more brainrotted among us.
