I already have a Harmony M. I bought it over a decade ago; it’s my first and only pedal. I was interested to see if they revised it and gave it some modern features, but it looks like they’ve fully discontinued it. I’m not well educated on what to look for....
The biggest swiss online seller makes charts for warranty claims. Basically: how many warranty claims does each brand have? This chart only shows the most popular brands of coffee machines sold on the site, but I still find it interesting.
The one you’ve shown has a balanced output, but not a balanced input. It’s possible on your linked version that when the output gets backed up, only one of the input lanes will get backed up.
So I think I’m looking for an TTRPG system that would essentially run a soap opera. Rules light is a plus, really something from the old “one-page rpgs” would probably be perfect. I want to focus on the narrative part and have a simple resolution mechanic that’s favors social encounters because combat isn’t part of the...
I’m newish to the RPG scene, mainly played 5e and recently pathfinder. Also watch Critical Role. That being said, they featured a new system recently called Candela Obscura. I’m sure it’s based on pre-existing systems, but I’m too new to know what those might be. . The system is designed for a kind of Lovecraftian Horror aesthetic, however its systems feel like they could be transplanted into a TV drama with some work.
Here’s a real quick gist:
How practiced you are in each skill tells you how many D6’s you get to roll for skill checks
The highest die determines the result of your skill check:
1-3 = fail
4-5 = mixed success
6 = full success
multiple 6’s = critical success
You have a number of extra dice you can expend, an there’s a mechanic to recharge those
Throughout a campaign the player can claim they possess an item that will help them in their scenario. The don’t need to have said up front that they have it, they can just Deus Ex Machina it so long as the GM accepts the explanation for how their character has it. They can do this 3 times by default.
i’m doing it because I want to make the fediverse more friendly place, in hopes of making it more welcoming for new users, and the nicer place in general. But I wonder how much is just less bots.
I might be missing it, but is there a side-bar to view my subscribed communities? I think on old.reddit, there was a pop-out bar on the left side of the window (but that may have been from RES).
Thought Captain Marvel was just meh. This one definitely looks more interesting, although for some reason this feels like a “Made For TV” movie from what we’ve seen in the trailer. Can’t put my finger on the technical reason, but this may be the first Marvel movie I wait until it’s available on Disney+ to watch.

Sometimes I can tell when my current DM fudges a roll to miss an attack or reduce damage. He has a tell in the specific way he pauses and breathes before announcing the roll, then tries to hurry to the next turn, which only seems to happen when someone is in a life-or-death scenario, but “luckily” survives....

Hello everyone. I’ve just started the adventure of contributing to OSM and have questions. What is the etiquette when it comes to creating “areas”? As in, for example, a Walmart. Do you create an area around the entire property and level it as retail? And then the building. Do I call the building itself “Walmart” or do...
I’m not sure if there are different etiquettes for different local regions. But for my area, all areas are exclusively just around the contiguous businesses’ buildings themselves.
If the building is multi-business, where each address is leased to a separate company, the area is placed around the entire building and not assigned to any specific business. Unless the building belongs to a company and there are other businesses inside, such as a Walmart with a McDonalds inside (which would be an area for Walmart, and a pin for McDonalds).
Here’s my local Walmart, which is an area with other business pins inside: i.imgur.com/9V3gOoz.png
Here is my local mall, which is an area for the mall itself, with pins for the businesses inside: i.imgur.com/TCQZfxZ.png
My understanding is that it depends on how many services are offered at a particular business/building (think of how many different search results you might get for a single address on Google).
For example, Walmarts often have garden sections/entrances, a tire/lube section, etc. Each of these might pop up with their own contact information on a Google search. So in this case, I would put an area around the entire building and give it the top-level Walmart information. And then, pins for the Garden center, Tire center, Pharmacy, McDonalds, etc.
However if there’s a building that houses a single business/service, a pin is preferred I think. And then just a building area around the structure. For example, a Taco Bell would likely be in its own building, and they only provide one service / only one search result. So use a pin for the Taco Bell, and then draw a Building area around the structure.
And then when there are multiple businesses that are connected to each other, use pins for the businesses, and a Building area for the structure.
I would avoid duplicating information for both the pin & area. Some maps that use OSM’s business data will show multiple potential destinations if a driver were to try and route to it. “Mexican Fast Food Restaurant” is generic enough that it’s totally fine, but I wouldn’t fill in the specifics about it being a Taco Bell (save that for the pin).
Piano pedal question, if that's OK; Anyone have a good modern alternative to a TC Helicon Harmony-M? The MIDI version of Harmony-G?

My take on a lane balancer, and a 2-belt overflow balancer. These could probably be optimized, but they have proven useful (although a bit unconventional)
So first off, here’s my lane balancer. As far as I know this allows 100% throughput (just a bit big)....

My (newish) 30-min dial timer for my bathroom lights keeps sticking. I've been told that some silicone based lubricant should be safe to spray into the mechanism. Am I going to burn down my house?
To clarify; I have not yet sprayed anything into the dial mechanism....
