Mutelogic,

Wow! Are these available now?

Mutelogic,

I'm not just jealous. I'm Kirkland Signature™ jealous.

Mutelogic,

That's the proudest racoon I've ever seen..

Mutelogic,

I feel like this is peak absurdist humor. Stunning.

Mutelogic,

Very nice! It's too bad this works better read, than spoken.

Which system should I use for a kid-friendly post-apocalyptic campaign?

My kids (10 & 13) and I are wrapping up our first campaign together in D&D 5e, and I'm starting to think about the next one. It's going to be a homebrew setting--future humanity decimated by climate change, but also elements of weird magic with giant plants and insects, inspired by things like Studio Ghibli, Kipo, etc....

Mutelogic,

This is not a complete suggestion, but based on the setting, you may be able to take some elements from Gamma World.

Mutelogic,

Why did I click on this... Why did you share this... I'm not ready to think about mortality and my failure to accomplish anything.

Mutelogic,

So I guess wolves can hurt me in two ways now...

Mutelogic,

So cute! It even has a built-in butt shelf for storing potions!

Mutelogic, (edited )

Honestly? Thanks for the perspective shift. I had a sensible chuckle and then thought more deeply about my priorities.

Mutelogic,

It's funny that it took 6 negative prompts to guide it into place..

Mutelogic,

Thanks for the extra context! The other options are technically showing 5 fingers per hand.. 😂

Mutelogic,

Wow! How did they avoid incinerating the cardboard box?

Mutelogic,

Teleportation would be an amazing power, but in the interest of "fairness", each power should have realistic limitations. Based on your descriptions, you would also need the power of remote vision so you don't teleport into an object or person. I feel like that's an extra power.

Also, teleporting seems like it shouldn't be effortless, and there should be some kind of limit to the mass you can teleport with you.

Mutelogic,

You can't mention this and not pay the tarantula tax!

Addressing the Exponential Growth of Communities

Over the past few days, I've witnessed a remarkable surge in the number of communities on browse.feddit.de. What started with 2k communities quickly grew to 4k, and now it has reached an astonishing 8k. While this exponential growth signifies a thriving platform, it also brings forth challenges such as increased fragmentation...

Mutelogic,

Who would control the multi-community, and how could a potential bad actor/community be dealt with?

Mutelogic,

I disagree on two points:

  • Fragmentation is a feature, not a bug. Echo chambers will always exist, but fragmentation is what keeps them contained to small pockets.
  • A centralized hub would not necessarily foster community engagement. Seeing hundreds of comments on a post is often enough of a barrier.
Mutelogic,

Check if your library participates in Overdrive or Libby (digital library collection). I can't believe I had been missing out on free ebooks, audiobooks, and comics/graphic novels for years. I just needed an active library card to sign up.

Mutelogic,

It's a little buried in the account settings, but Netflix does allow account sharing for an additional fee (~$7?). I know families that went with this option so they could continue sharing their account with elderly parents, and college aged children.

I imagine that if a group of friends agreed to split the cost of an account + fees, they would end up paying less than having individual accounts.

Your favorite board games?

What are your favorite board games? Me and my friends love playing board games, but I get the feeling their tired of playing the same things. What do you guys usually play? My favorite board game of all time is HeroQuest. I never get tired of playing it. Also love Catan, Arkham Horror, Betrayal House on the Hill, Spyfall (great...

Mutelogic,

'Splendor' is another gem of a game like Azul. Simple rules with quick turns, and the "poker chips" are substantial.
