TL;DW: Zack posits that the additional mass of the hot stage ring pushes the total mass of the booster close to (or over) the limit of what the booster can land with, based on the amount of propellant which can be stored in the current design of the landing tanks....
I’m sure that this is just a temporary thing until the ring is fully integrated into future booster versions. There’s been changes to Booster that’s bumped its mass up quite a bit I believe.
I’m sure one of the videos from the known commenters noted that this means it’s a fair bit heavier but future ones reduce weight. Due to how fast they iterate and build the changes are being applied to a few boosters from now but they’ll just make do with what’s coming before that.
‘Lynch calmly responded: “There is plenty of money in the country, it’s just a matter of whether you want to get some of it and distribute it more equitably.”’
is classed as “destroys”. It seems like it’s his standard line. The problem here is that the headline doesn’t deliver and the article is basically a soundbite rather than actual reporting on the “why” part of either statement. It’s frustrating that there’s so much of this clickbait “churn” paraded about as news. We need a better informed and educated population of were to avoid more Brexit style nonsense in future.
Reddit and Lemmy have a few different nuances that Sync doesn’t properly address. A good example is blocking communities or individuals right from the post menu. Syncs development has been sporadic or at least was when I paid attention. In addition Connect has a few additional features like “hide all above” which is a nice feature to have once you get used to it.
For me, basically, this. Articulated all of the points I would want to, far better than I could have. Great summation…
Really the only difference was I used to genuinely like flying my ships, that for me was the “goal”. MM has made them less “fun” overall at the moment and they feel “arcadey” for lack of better description. I just don’t enjoy them now.
Isn’t that the guy who kicked off when he was killed PVPing even though that’s what he’s known for? I’m sure there was stuff in Reddit about it before I left.
It was a fantastic hour and a bit of actually being able to see it with the naked eye and I managed to get some cracking pictures. This is supposed to go on for the rest of the weekend too as there was a large solar flare the other day. Tomorrow so far is forecast to be even more intense.

The ad itself depicted a mechanical crusher destroying artifacts of human creativity. A trumpet, guitar, sculpture, piano, drawing board, paints, a metronome, several analog cameras, a turntable, and hi-fi equipment were among the much-loved items yielding to the machine’s unstoppable force.
Apple popularised two things that bug the shit out of me in addition to everything you said. “on iPhone” “on iPad” just sounds utterly wrong. It needs to be “on the iPhone” “on the iPad”. Now everyone is doing it.
The other is " breathlessly we’re excited to announce/we’re excited to share with you/we’re excited!!!big fucking cheesy grin". The whole point of having that whole “excited” or whichever adjective you want at that point of the sentence is to prep you and let you know what you’re supposed to feel. If it’s that good surely you shouldn’t have to tell me what I need to feel.

Yeah, having tried them they are very, very much a cluster munition. Also it seems so far everyone has learned the range of said cluster munitions in pretty much the same way. Weird it think AT Landmines would have a lower Teamkill potential and I say this as someone who today, told my new playing friend to watch out for the bot mines and promptly stepped on one.
I never changed my pads in 65k miles so that’s not true sorry.
They are on average slightly heavier but we’re talking 100-200kg. That’s nothing, 10-15%, definitely not “substantially”. Less if you add fuel to the ICE.
There’s not any extra pollution. There’s an investment cost and then tyre wear. Which you get from an ICE. Along with, you know, all the pollution from the combustion engine. Which is at most 24% efficient (more likely middle teens) and only continues to pollute rather than electric vehicles which don’t.
Electric cars may not be the ultimate solution but they’re a damn sight better than the status quo so let’s stop this kind on hysterical posting eh?
Yeah, but we’re shit at doing that so how about we do the “easy” part of getting less CO2 and local pollution by shifting everything Electric right now and push for better overall. This is a case for doing something in the right direction, not waiting for the perfect solution.
Unless you have a time machine and we go back to the 80s and start the conversion then like we should have.
Smaller batteries for load shaving. Smaller batteries for home and businesses to self store. Hydro. Gravity. Thermal.
And that’s just looking at the most basic swap out. The whole point of the energy transition is to also make everything better. Continent wide energy grids need to happen ie. Wind in Norway, solar in Morocco and a grid between etc. local generation by solar or wind also has a huge part to play. Geothermal is getting much better with lower temperature or harder to reach heat sources too, see Eden Project in Cornwall.
I don’t want to come too aggressively at you here but I see this kind of “attitude” a lot in these conversations and it’s always struck me as very insincere.
If you haven’t already have a watch of the Everything Electric videos on YouTube for good views on how wide this whole thing is going to have to be.
They supply energy as they claim. Oil, diesel and petrol to name a few. They all have uses outside of moving cars, not sure if you know that.
If we’re sticking to what OP said then You’re still wrong about huge batteries as they only need to be sized for the role of the vehicle and very very very few need to do 300 miles in one go but I won’t bother continuing because I don’t think you’re open to discuss but more of a bad faith actor.
