Oderus,

Which is super easy to do. /s

Oderus,

I was thinking RAIB 10 . .no need for parity checking.

Oderus,

Just the other day I read a comment on Facebook and it starts off with a qualifier that they’re pro EV. Then they spew all sorts of anti-EV bullshit and it’s just reeks of disinformation. If someone feels the need to qualify their opinion by saying they pro, before acting against, they’re just fucking idiots.

Oderus,

Replacing EV batteries is very rare, even in older or very used EV’s

Oderus,

It’s easy to make a less powerful motor. As someone else said, the current market is for people who are looking for better performance and aren’t concerned with price. I put a deposit on a Polestar 3 that does 0-60 in 4.7s which is slow compared to its competition like the Model X and BMW iX but I don’t care about 0-60. It’s a meaningless metric to judge a car by. My Challenger SRT 392 does the 0-60 in 4.2s but I bought that car for how nice it looks, not its 0-60.

Oderus,

It would be nice if they provided that information but the data isn’t useless without that information. It helps show that there’s a pattern where batteries only lose 10% capacity after being driven a lot.

You can assume that EV’s with higher milage will have been charged far more often than those with less mileage.

Canadian here and yeah, it can get down to -30C and +30C here but remember all batteries are insulated and they run glycol though them to keep them at a constant temperature which negates any external factors like weather. Polestar does their testing in the Artic circle so it’s even colder so if it works well there, it’ll work well anywhere.

With more EV’s sold and more time passed, only then will we better understand battery life but based on what I’m seeing, it’s a minor issue that won’t stop me from buying an EV.

Oderus,

Funny joke… but honestly, I found this movie unbelievably boring.

Oderus,

Be honest. You’ve had dreams/thoughts of killing someone in self defence.

Oderus,

I wouldn’t dare assume what’s in someone’s head and I try hard not to mischaracterize anyone. I just wanted to know if that person ever dreamed of killing someone, and while my comment didn’t provide context, I was wondering how happy they’d be if they did. I get the impression that some people that want guns for self-defense are ‘itching’ to kill someone and are using self-defense as an excuse. I read that a girl got shot because her basketball landed in someone’s yard and the person killed her. While not the norm, without proper healthcare, including mental health, having the right to use a gun for self-defense is a recipe for disaster. Plus, the ‘stand your ground’ laws seemed deeply flawed, though this is coming from a Canadian that doesn’t have the right to use deadly force to defend my property.

Oderus,

I doubt you’re being honest in your question but I’ll answer it anyway.

Could I live with myself if my wife died due to a home invasion? Yes, of course I could. I’m not at fault for her death so why wouldn’t I be able to live with myself?

The fact that you came up with a situation where you think violence is the solution answers my initial question of you dreaming about killing someone in self-defense. You didn’t think you were going to prove yourself a liar in your response did you?

Oderus,

Over hydrated? Not possible. I drink 4l a day and my piss is never yellow and doesn’t smell. If your piss is yellow, you need more water and less non water drinks like coffee, soda/pop.

Oderus,

Excess of body water may also be a result of a medical condition or improper treatment; see “hyponatremia” for some examples. Water is considered one of the least toxic chemical compounds, with an LD50 exceeding 90 ml/kg in rats;[3] drinking six liters in three hours has caused the death of a human.[4]

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_intoxication#:~:text=….

Very excessive yes but 4L in a 16 hour window is not even close, it’s ideal.

Oderus,

I’ll likely get downvoted but Polestar, the EV automaker that used to build performance variants for Volvo, uses blockchain to track minerals used in their EV’s.

Circulor Circulor’s blockchain technology enables tracing of extracted raw materials, particularly those with significant impact to communities and the environment.

I like that they use blockchain to ensure the minerals they use aren’t coming from negative sources but I’m sure someone will argue and say it’s stupid or that SQL can do the same.

Oderus,

So you’re saying Polestar is lying about using blockchain?

Polestar enters strategic partnership with blockchain provider Circulor
Collaboration targets blockchain traceability and CO2e tracking
Progressive in scope and ambition, partnership enables unprecedented supply chain transparency

Oderus,

I’m hoping you’re being hyperbolic about burning rainforests because not every blockchain is power hungry like Bitcoin or the old the POW Ethereum.

Besides, the rainforest is being burned down to make way for more cattle to provide more beef. Not sure why you chose the rainforest as example of intense computational power.

Oderus,

It must be exhausting being so cynical.

Oderus,

I don’t get the hate for SUV’s but I love them. Just put a deposit down on a Polestar 3.

Oderus, (edited )

Sure, they are heavier but trucks are even heavier and all EV’s are heavier than their ICE competitors. The Polestar 3 I ordered is quite aerodynamic so not all SUV’s are the same in that regard. All EV’s have a much lower centre of gravity than ICE vehicles (but still higher than an EV car) so your point is valid.

The Polestar 3 has an air ride suspension with a torque vectoring dual clutch rear end which makes performance amazing. At least based on my research as they’re not really out in the wild yet.

Oderus,

Fuck the tankies in here and praise UN and Sweden.

Oderus,

Who they worship doesn’t matter. Based on the article, they voted for a brick to be thrown into the window of the elites. It really doesn’t matter who that person is, just as long as they inflict damage on the elites who have been marginalizing them for years.

It was a super informative article and I hope people read it, and not assume from the title or read the summarized version like we usually do.

If we keep labelling them ‘deplorables’, it’ll make things worse. We need to reach out and listen while also helping as best we can.

Oderus,

Then you’re admitting that you’re adding to the problem vs trying to resolve it. I know it’s hard but nothing worth doing is easy.

Oderus,

You’re clearly very naive if you think I’m normalizing rape. Learn what that term means before you use it because you sound like a moron.
