Hey.

I’m Dan. A 36 year old father of two who doesn’t have nearly as much time as he needs to do half the things he wishes he had the time to do.

I mean, is this in real time because I won’t lie, I bet there’s an awful lot of ‘boring’ mixed in with all the amazing moments.

I dunno, I could spend a good long while playing nothing but Football Manager if I didn’t have to worry about being anywhere else.

I just wish the Fury part of Bowsers Fury was a little less all consuming. The little open world they constructed was great, but I found the constant interruption from Bowser to be a little grating after a while.

I think Farrell suffered a similar sort of thing as Brad Pitt did in the 90s in that he’s super attractive…oh and he was in that bad Daredevil movie. Aside from that I can’t remember him ever being the reason a movie was bad, and whenever I see him he’s absolutely fantastic.

Won’t lie. Having a second was never something I expected to happen. I’m not sure either of us were ready for it and it’s absolutely gutted our sense of self, our relationship and our overall level of happiness.

That said we both absolutely love our two kids. We wouldn’t be without them and they make our lives so much more…full. It’s amazing to watch them play together, and to watch my eldest show genuine care for another human, and to watch my youngest learn and mimic his big sister.

It’s not been easy. I think we’d both admit that we’ve struggled with the transition from 1 to 2 in ways we never did form 0 to 1, and our youngest has been significantly more challenging than our eldest was, but even with that, he’s an absolute light in my world.

In the space of a week I’ve gone from "damn, they’ve actually made themselves favourites to make the ‘loffs’ to “somehow Pittsburgh returned” and I’m not pleased about it.

Wasn’t a great game but those last two goals were damp as anything. Another dropped point.

Is it considered a staycation if you get a caravan for a week? Or is that below the Guardian?

Eldest just turned 6. Youngest just turned 2.

Don’t know about how it is in the US, but in the UK the idea of people rushing to finish their transaction fills me with dread. I’ve worked in a supermarket with self service and the general public really struggles with them.

It’s happening. My eldest is six. And I’ve noticed that when it comes to being a stubborn git, she’s definitely more her Mum than she is me.

She’ll refuse to do the most benign things. Getting dressed and brushing her teeth is an absolute battle. Trying to get her to eat anything that’s not a ketchup covered fish finger? An Impossibility. She’s her Mum. Classic ‘cutting off her nose to spite her face’ sort of stuff.

Ay ay ay.

I’ve been pretty desperate for some good ‘Dad friends’ for a while now but it’s never happened. I only do pick up and drop offs once a week, and whilst people are friendly it’s never gone any further than that. Sadness.

It was all good until I told my partner that she absolutely gets it from her. That did not go well for me 😬😬

Yeah we’ve got some of this, although perhaps not as frustratingly bad as you guys.

She’s very picky, but we’ve gotten to the point that we just cook what the other three of us eat and if she doesn’t want it then so be it.

I should emphasize that we generally only eat what we know she likes, but for some reason she’ll decide on a random wednesday that now she doesn’t like peas and …yeah okay.

Banana before bed I guess.

I agree with the sentiment, but I hope it doesn’t go too hard on the Witcher vibes. That show, was…well not good.

There’s a very narrow line that I hope they can tread that both tells an engaging and interesting story whilst also keeping it fun and approachable. I think the Witcher failed to walk that line.

I watched that when it came out but the scene with the father and the tree is still firmly planted in my head.
