@OutofPrintArchive@mstdn.games

Hi there, my name is Andy, I'm from Belgium.
I spend most of my free time digitising and restoring classic video game magazines, mostly from the UK.
I've been doing this for nearly 20 years now and I'm here to share my passion for these magazines with others.
I love to read and talk about gaming memories from years gone by.

My main hobbies are gaming, both modern and retro gaming, as well as Japanese, South Korean and classic Hong Kong cinema.

The majority of my output as of late has been very SNES heavy.
So apologies about the lack of variety.
I will do my best to switch things up a little, but the next couple of weeks and months will most likely keep being SNES heavy.

That being said, I'm proud to present you with the very first issue of N-Force today: so N-Force 1 - July 1992 (UK) has just been added to the preliminary magazine catalogue.

New pickup.
This one got discounted to €30, so I couldn't resist.

At face value, this looks like another run of the mill war type game. And to a certain extent it probably is.
But it plays so very differently from the others, that it becomes a lot more enjoyable, at least to me.

Learning enemies positions and behaviours, vantage points, short cuts and such. Taking risky shots and getting away with it, setting up traps. So much fun.

omg omg omg it's here!
Can't play it right now as I have to leave for work in a bit, but I'm so glad to have these.

These are actually part of my summer vacation purchases, but I didn't want to hold off a couple of months just to see them sold out, so I grabbed them immediately instead.

Unicorn Overlord for PS5 is just £32 right now at Amazon UK for people in the EU.
Just under £27 for people in the UK, I believe.
Be quick though as last week, when it was £36, it sold out really quickly.

Reviews for Ikari Warriors and Ghosts 'N' Goblins on NES from Total! 20 - August 1993 (UK)

As ususal they are overly harsh on NES games at this point.
"Great for walnut-brained arcade freaks, but not for normal people."

Sure buddy, that's why 30 years onwards we are still playing these classics... :cat_ick:

Well this is a nice surprise.
I got €15 off the retail price for Advance Wars and €10 off Front Mission, so when I noticed that they weren't even shipped on Friday, I just sighed.

Didn't get the notification that both had shipped even, so I expected them in the upcoming weeks.

But I just checked the mailbox and to my surprise, these were shipped together and were quietly delivered.

Been busy trying to save everything from a failing hard drive.
I should have a lot of it on other drives, but it's such a mess that I'm going to catalogue it all to not get into this situation in the future.

It's all downloaded magazines and backed up Youtube videos.

As I was going over my Studio Mudprints (Bullet Heaven series) backup I noticed a couple of videos missing.
I went to youtube and his channel is gone.
Did he just delete it recently?

This one was shipped from France on Friday, got to another city in France on Saturday, then spent the next 2 days visiting 3 more cities in Germany, to finally arrive in Belgium today. 😂

I very well realise that I'm in the minority here, but I can't shake the thought as of late that I'm starting to worry a little about Omega Force.

As a big musou fan, I'm used to getting at least a couple releases in the west each year and then one or two that remain in Japan.

But it's been so quiet on the musou front that I wondering what's up.
Perhaps they are just working with Nintendo again and thus can't reveal anything right now?

Ah damn, I completely lost track of time.
I downloaded the Shiren The Wanderer episode of Game Center CX and decided to improve the subs for it since are hard to read at time.
Ended up learning a new program and how to add all kinds of things...

So much work goes into this, it's insane!
Mad respect for the people who are doing all those episodes from scratch.

Some examples of what I'm doing if anyone is interested...

The old ones have yellow text.

Now this came as a complete surprise for me, as I just checked the tracking yesterday and it didn't even show that it was anywhere near my country yet...

Four games that flew completely under the radar, at least for me, so I'm incredibly glad to add them to my collection.
All are Japanese versions, but have English support btw.

Override Mech City Brawl
Overlord: Escape From Nazarick
Katana Kami: A Way of the Samurai Story
Hatena no Tou: The Tower of Children

Having quite a bit of trouble scanning the very first issue of GamesMaster.
It’s nearly 150 pages thick, which means that the pages tend to warp like hell. So the end up with lots of blurry spots and stripes as well as something looking like whitish smears where the paper doesn’t touch the scan plate fully.
Which means that this issue has taken 450 scans so far and will baloon a bit more depending on the problems I’m still about to catch.

But it’ll be worth it in the end. ☺️

Great list from Time Extension, including two of my personal Favourites: Gundam Breaker and Gundam Musou. 😊
Then again, I expect nothing less from Damien.

Little update.

Still not feeling well at all.
Been really rough the past couple of days with a lot of pain, but also a lot of sleeping or trying to sleep, even during the daytime.
Yesterday was the worst. Woke up incredibly sick to my stomach and the nausea lasted till the evening.

Feeling a little better today, but still incredibly off, so I'll probably be asleep again in a couple hours.

I really can't wait for all of this to be over already.

Two absolute heart picks for me arrived.
Sadly, I found out that Psychonauts 2 only runs at 30fps, even on PS4 Pro.
So I'm thinking of holding off to replay this one till I finally get a PS5 where it runs at 60.

How silly it might sound to most, Returnal is the one first party game that I actually want a PS5 for. Wasn't able to find a copy for less than €70, until this one popped up for 48, so I jumped at it.

I was watching a video on the review scores for Paper Mario and this popped up.

They really are completely clueless about everything aren't they?
How is this a good look when trying to advertise your AI crap?

Never mind the linking of the Vulcan salute with the phrase "Resistance is futile".

But actually thinking that it's a great way to advertise this crap by stating that it'll swallow everything up, no matter wether we fight it or not.

Yeah, brilliant advertisement there! :cat_ick:
