The indie game and the three inspirations behind it!

1st photo: I dropped it and now there's C++ all over the floor.

2nd photo: a blurry figure and a cab driver without a shared language are enjoying a bag of tangerines during a long drive through a vast desert

3rd photo: a sleepless young woman standing on a train platform sees another world in the shadows, erased by the harsh light of day

4th photo: the procession of seasons. colors that cannot be remembered. an indistinct longing.

Wandered around campus one Sunday in February. Its sort of nostalgic. Part of that is just that it hasn't much changed. Part of that, I think, is that brutalist architecture is by nature resistant to change.

Since, these days, change is often hyper financialization at the expense of everything else, this permanence is, I think, a virtue.

These spaces from the 70s (60s?) still carry their original intent.

@meejah The furniture feels like a match to me, e.g., in the atrium. Some of the furniture is still unchanged, I think the black chairs in Science A (B?). But yeah!

Also-- in a few places (not sure if in my pictures) there are some giant tacky slogans. Oh well ;)

A YouTube commenter applying the hippocratic oath to protest Marques Brownlee's negative review of a bad tech product seems silly and annoying BUT

BUT

If you have been looking for that perfect way to explain Capitalist Realism to people, it's just been handed to you

Capitalist Realism means people can read "First Do No Harm" and feel /intuitively/, /without thinking/, and /without as many words/ that the implicit, natural subject is "to the corporation and/or its shareholders"

    @mcc This is a nice idea. I always feel like Lua is adjacent to scheme/lisp (thought I have used neither so like, IDK) whereas JS is adjacent... not sure but honestly maybe C++?

    P.S I really love Lua but I agree it requires a large amt of discipline

    Hey, imagine I want to do dithering, but also imagine that I am the laziest programmer you have ever fricking met. Is there a trick/simple algorithm for doing dithering that is so simple you can just tell it to me in a reply to this post and I will instantly memorize it just reading your post and then never have to look it up again. It doesn't even have to be good dithering

    @mcc HBD! Here is a photo I took in December. Lovely filtered light at the Conservatory at the zoo, then thru a 1960's-era 200mm f4 asahi pentax super takumar-- lenses known for their reds and greens-- then raw processed thru software I made that does quasi-physical things to the colours but not in a typical photo editor way.
