This is a shot in the dark, but I'd like to revisit my favourite book series as an audiobook. Issue is, I don't like the way the official audiobook is read.

Does someone have a recommendation for an unofficial version somewhere on the internet? Maybe someone reading on their YouTube channel?

Unfortunately there seems to be no other version around except for the official one. 🥲

(Background info: First person narrator, and if the voice doesn't work for me, it doesn't work at all. I've already read 9 out of the 18 main story books so I have a vision of several characters already.)

@janl The reason I wanna listen to it is.. I want to continue the series. I can't remember all of the details because there's so many books at this point.

I also re-read it in 2022. I thought an audiobook would offer another, new-ish experience but alas..

I will have to come up with something else. 🤔

The wife and I ordered some banana pudding cream moonshine and some pickled flavor moonshine and it finally arrived today.

Verdict on both:

anana Pudding Cream Moonshine: Very good taste! Tastes just like a banana pudding would taste, with a decent hint of moonshine taste/flavor. Aftertaste is definitely more banana pudding and a sweetness.

Pickle Moonshine: Taste just like pickle juice, nothing else. Can't even really taste the moonshine part of it.

It's still pretty surreal that we got a new car just in time. 🥹 I wasn't on Fedi yet when our Polo got rear-ended in 2022, which I could still drive until the end of last year, but wasn't worth repairing.

Then, by chance, my dad got to know a guy who has a private car workshop and he'd just bought a 7-year-old car off of a widow who didn't need it anymore.

We lost Silver, John Silver, but now we have The Captain. 🥹

Since I've quit Twitter I feel like I'm missing out on some (world) news and I don't really feel like clogging my entire Fedifeed with newspaper accounts.

How are you catching up with the news nowadays? Specific websites, an Email service? I've started thinking about going old school and building my own RSS news feed.

Open to all kinds of recommendations since I'm not looking for THE ONE source. Always diversify your sources.
