This is a shot in the dark, but I'd like to revisit my favourite book series as an audiobook. Issue is, I don't like the way the official audiobook is read.

Does someone have a recommendation for an unofficial version somewhere on the internet? Maybe someone reading on their YouTube channel? #TheHollows #RachelMorgan

Unfortunately there seems to be no other version around except for the official one. 🥲

(Background info: First person narrator, and if the voice doesn't work for me, it doesn't work at all. I've already read 9 out of the 18 main story books so I have a vision of several characters already.)

@janl The reason I wanna listen to it is.. I want to continue the series. I can't remember all of the details because there's so many books at this point.

I also re-read it in 2022. I thought an audiobook would offer another, new-ish experience but alas..

I will have to come up with something else. 🤔

The wife and I ordered some banana pudding cream moonshine and some pickled flavor moonshine and it finally arrived today.

Verdict on both:

anana Pudding Cream Moonshine: Very good taste! Tastes just like a banana pudding would taste, with a decent hint of moonshine taste/flavor. Aftertaste is definitely more banana pudding and a sweetness.

Pickle Moonshine: Taste just like pickle juice, nothing else. Can't even really taste the moonshine part of it.

    Is there a version of FourSquare / Swarm for the Fediverse?

    I want to check in to a specific location and share that online. Not looking for badges and mayors etc.

    Just a geotagged post saying "I am here".

    @radiofreefedi While I was listening to your radio I was actually wondering if you're planning on adding another station where you play music the streaming community can use in the background while they stream.

    (As I've understood not all of the music you stream is under CC licenses, so those songs wouldn't be allowed to be streamed by other people.)

    Even if you weren't planning on doing that, picking out artists I like and adding them to a playlist is really cool.

    It's still pretty surreal that we got a new car just in time. 🥹 I wasn't on Fedi yet when our Polo got rear-ended in 2022, which I could still drive until the end of last year, but wasn't worth repairing.

    Then, by chance, my dad got to know a guy who has a private car workshop and he'd just bought a 7-year-old car off of a widow who didn't need it anymore.

    We lost Silver, John Silver, but now we have The Captain. 🥹

    I'm really hoping to get some of you interested in what we're doing over at @saveandraid! 😊

    It's a yearly multi-streamer event where we choose a (retro) game, play through the franchise together by handing over our save files & try to make you laugh with our incentives & milestones to raise money for through the nonprofit organisation SAVE.

    @saveandraid We started with DOOM in 2021, played Legend of Grimrock in 2022, continued with Fallout in 2023 and for 2024 the community voted to beat #HalfLife together! 🤩

    @twilliability A friend of mine searched for my former profile picture a while back and found my X profile and a reply of mine to someone here on tchncs.de. :tinking:

    I also used it to find artwork by an artist just a few months ago and it worked quite well. :thaenkin:
