Package managers have become so much better with dependencies. It’s been a while since I’ve encountered an issue, with yay it very usually works out of the box.
I think there’s a place for both AI images and artists, there’s no need to be tribalistic for this. I used AI to generate some albums covers for my personal playlists, but I won’t print out AI art and put it on my wall or anything. But this whole story got me interested in making commissions, since I’ve never done it before, and I think a piece of art can be a wonderful gift for someone.
Yeah I wouldn’t mind it, but it’s only for a very niche use, just to appease my OCD. I can’t actually see the cover art clearly, the screen is goddamn small on my mp3 player. So paying would be overkill for this.
Nobody should celebrate this. He’s got in sentence, there’s no need to rub it in and make him suffer more, it doesn’t help anyone. You can argue that he got off easy and should be in jail for longer, but wishing for his death in prison is needlessly cruel and short-sighted.

A question to American Lemmy users: from what I can tell you are Democrats for the vast majority : would you consider voting for a Republican president if you aligned with his ideas, or if the Democrat candidate was an unredeemable piece of shit? The two party system makes zero sense to me because it doesn’t seem, at first glance, that they’re a huge overlap, people are not willing to go to the other side often, it seems. … what’s the point of having debates and stuff then?

If you’re just a bit tech savvy it’s useless, there’s nothing of worth Premium offers that you cannot get for free (maybe 4k stuff? I don’t use it personally). As for supporting content creators, I prefer to donate without YouTube getting a cut. I don’t care if the platform dies, substitutes with better financing models will take its place.
Probably yeah, it depends how often you watch videos. I would much prefer a tip-based system than shoving shitty ads on everyone and blaming the consumer for getting around them. They make enough money by stealing my data.
You should take it upon yourself to make regular backups in case you fuck up really bad. I had an intern that deleted everything on its fifth day, luckily l was automatically making backups two times a day, so it was fine.
Company was a shitshow, new features or changes were expected immediately, so we got used to work directly on prod. I told him to test anything on a dummy DB and show me before we submit it, but he got around it when I wasn’t looking. The security tools were garbage, I wasn’t allowed to change permissions.
