Thinking about my lawn needing plastic flamingos

RueNahcMohr,

@MLE_online Is there something other than flamingos? bees maybe?

I've gathered up all the things I need to try making natto this weekend

RueNahcMohr,

@MLE_online what type does it need? what type do you have?

RueNahcMohr,

@MLE_online J, huh. I'v heard of it and never seen one.
It helps to have a spot welder or acetylene torch to join them.

RueNahcMohr,

@MLE_online ! interesting!

Opto isolated FET driver?
Not exactly the fastest circuit on the planet tho.... BUT ITS CHEAP!

RueNahcMohr,

@gsuberland I'm not sure how you would incorporate the current booster tho...

RueNahcMohr,

@gsuberland ah! the current source is really light to improve power draw. So there isn't enough source-current for driving the FET. The source-boost transistor fixes that.
Sadly the isolators are way to slow to use them in totem pole. :/

RueNahcMohr,

@gsuberland oh as a booster, I follow ya now.

RueNahcMohr,

@gsuberland AOP605 is a comp. set tho :]

crazy tiny 4 bit to 7 segment decoder using logic from @amohr

Not BCD and doesn't do hex, but look at the parts count!!! Super cheap discretes!

My computer continues to be a crashing mess :(

RueNahcMohr,

@foone But will it ever be a supercharged 1541?

A belt sander is useful for more than just sanding. For example, you can use one for testing the output of a generator hub for a bicycle

video/mp4

RueNahcMohr,

@MLE_online is there a resistor between the cap and the LED?

i just love it how STEP models for electronic components are all locked down now 🙄 and also obviously wrong like this "7-segment" display.

RueNahcMohr,

@tubetime ? what software?

My fascination for the 1 bit computer is how it sits right on the middle of the grey region between a computer, and a state machine. Technically, its a state machine, but it programs like a computer.
I can nudge it a bit more towards computer by giving it an ALU too....

Baked ziti for dinner tonight

RueNahcMohr,

@MLE_online wait so, I cook pasta, put it in a pan with pasta sauce, shredd a load of cheese all over it and .... <squint> bake... it for a ... while?

RueNahcMohr,

@MLE_online that does not look like a meal for 1, do you just tupperware it to lunch for a week?

RueNahcMohr,

@MLE_online So, uh, 350F for like, 20mins??

RueNahcMohr, to random

wow, it was back in 2021, how time flies.

RueNahcMohr,

@MLE_online It was fun and it worked, thankyou!

Morning schematics!

RueNahcMohr,

The motor goes from the output to ground, +v being 24V and -v being -24V This is meant to lower driving voltage drops when doing bidirectional motor driving. I should work out a FET version.

RueNahcMohr, to random

I just spent way too long photoshopping up a diagram for the 1 bit computer...

BUT IT WAS FUN!

Okay, the worst is over, as far as this small segment is concerned... Three evenings on this! 😳

Shouldn't some of those chips be on the other side of the board?

RueNahcMohr, to random

I got serial programming working on the 1 bit computer!!!!

It does not use any microcontrollers. The programming is done at 9600 baud (software encoded to PWM) with monostables and 74HC595 shift registers. I have it running with the program in an SRAM chip :] super happy!!!!!
its 1:30am....
