That was always a bullshit move by Apple and crippled the Firefox product in an unacceptable and cartel law questionable dimension. MS had a Monopoly on IE, by giving advantages binding it to the OS? Apple did the exact same thing on iOS with Safari.
That is not a win in my view. That only means that they have to pay what they had to pay anyway the store were open. That’s like literally no fine. It was worth it for them to try to close the store. At worst they need to reopen the store and continue. What is the backpay of the baristas? 4 worker each 30k/year? That does not hurt them. And you know this because they just did it and will do it again. Where is the fine that hurts so much, that they do not dare to try to bust other locations again and again? The fact that they continue this behavior tells you everything you need to know.
The U.S. Pentagon assessed that North Korea continues to supply Russia with weapons, Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh said at a press briefing on April 1.
Lets not forget that NK would barely exist without china. NK is just a front for China to move weapons internationally without getting their hands dirty.
Representative Don Bacon, a Nebraska Republican, told NBC News’ Kristen Welker on Sunday that according to lawyers hired by Congress, “at this point, there’s not a specific crime that’s been committed” by President Joe Biden in the impeachment probe against him.
Trump was a wakeup call for me back then. As a teenager in the 90s I always thought that the US has a robust democratic system with a strong militaristic core/underbelly/deepstate that would never compromise the stand of the US. I thought that some three letter agency would always have a plan for everything already drawn up and that action behind the scenes would be taken to ensure the stability and actionability of the states by always being one step ahead of the adversary. For the first Trump year I thought it would be a controlled trick of one of the agencies to trick china/russia into a trap. It must be. The US killed people in other countries around the world to make the US get out on top. No way that bought ads on Facebook can get unrecognized by these agencies to subvert millions.
My worldview about the US today is absolutely shattered. I do not believe that any three letter agency in the US is capable of steering or controlling anything. That Russia and China are able to influence so many people without any agency confronting these efforts was a wake up call for me. And that there is a chance that trump might have a second term is downright devastating for my assurance in the US. As a child I thought about moving to the US one day. I would have taken the risk of getting shot or struggling with bad healthcare. But now that the believe in the protective stable leading system is gone… what is left? Unleashed capitalism and rampant racism? I can find this everywhere in the world.
The last time they toppled their leader was over 100 years ago, and it was only downhill from there. Everyone who was smart left already. The smart ones who stayed and were stupid enough to open their mouth got into a gulag. Everyone who talked about these people getting jailed up, was also jailed up. Thousands died. Million live above the bare minimum. There is no progression. No public discourse where to go. No idea what they could change, no perseverance to try out anything. Russia is a empty shell of disillusioned people, where nobody trust anyone and people dont want to talk their mind to not get in trouble. It is fake, empty, oppressed and a like minded simmering of the same lies over and over.
It is a hazardous place for any socially or human development.
Niksen is the Dutch word for “doing nothing” (see idleness [german: Müßiggang]) and has been increasingly used since 2019 as a buzzword for a promoted relaxed lifestyle. The Niksen is comparable to the Dolcefarniente (Italy), kalsarikännit (Finland), Lagom (Sweden) and hygge (Denmark).
We have to take back that wealth. Right this is the reason why we have not the lifes we deserve. That are the funds that were siphoned off from our society. The people created this worth. Not some guys at the top.
I hope the attacks by Ukrainians behind enemy lines intensify before the Russian presidential election. The Russians hate them anyway. They could again drop some presents on Moscow without losing any more sympathy that they did not got from russians in the first place. Might as well show some muscles - the only language authoritarian regimes understand. 18 Drones in Kiev? 18 Drones on Moscow. But instead of civilian infrastructure, let it rain down on political targets. No need to get as low as russians.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday there would be no peace in Ukraine until the Kremlin realizes its goals, which remain unchanged after nearly two years of fighting that has sent tensions soaring between Moscow and the West....
For me it is also not over until putins useless corpse is getting dragged behind a car across moscow. Some reports state that Putin was very intimidated by the images of Gaddafi getting jumped by people in public. Its the authocrates bigges fear that one day the people organize and drag him out of his palace. I will never forgive Putin what he has done and I will only forgive the complicit population if they drag his lifeless body over the red square. He killed hundred thousands of people. He deserves the Gaddafi-Treatment.
Richelieu in the center is represented on a dike. At his side, in retreat, his general staff. This dike, which no longer exists today, was built at the time of the Great Siege in 1628 to prevent aid from the English to the Rochelais. Note the particular costume of Richelieu which combines at the same time the armor and the scarlet cape of a Cardinal.

Four thousand workmen also built a 1,400 meters (0.9 mi) long seawall to block the seaward access between the city and harbor, stopping all supplies. The initial idea for blocking the channel came from the Italian engineer Pompeo Targone, but his structure was broken by winter weather, before the idea was taken up by the royal architect Clément Métezeau in November 1627. The wall was built on a foundation of sunken hulks filled with rubble.

My favorite about your account is the triad of posting in a thread about nuclear energy, then saying “I believe they should be tortured even more” on a different topic and then stating “This places becomes more reddit each day.”.
Babe, this place was fine before you came here bringing all that reddit energy. You know, when wherever you go, you meet idiots, maybe you are the idiot. Keep winning boy.
That is why I think the “The Cruelty Is the Point” Article by Adam Serwer in 2018 was so important.
The ones who burned the books were always on the wrong side of history. Yet, they still do it. And I guess it is because the vile and harassing actions is an integral part of these people. The pain and suffering they bring to the people around them is what makes them feel good. They want to harm and destroy and are actively looking for people who cheer for them when they do. They want to find the people and the places where they can act in utterly disgrace and inhumane behaviour and are not ejected, but promoted. They are desperate to live out their inner cruel behavior as this is what brings them joy. This woman would literally fuck a guy who strangled a LGBTQ Member in front of her.
Adam Serwer:
But it’s not the burned, mutilated bodies that stick with me. It’s the faces of the white men in the crowd. There’s the photo of the lynching of Thomas Shipp and Abram Smith in Indiana in 1930, in which a white man can be seen grinning at the camera as he tenderly holds the hand of his wife or girlfriend. There’s the undated photo from Duluth, Minnesota, in which grinning white men stand next to the mutilated, half-naked bodies of two men lashed to a post in the street—one of the white men is straining to get into the picture, his smile cutting from ear to ear. There’s the photo of a crowd of white men huddled behind the smoldering corpse of a man burned to death; one of them is wearing a smart suit, a fedora hat, and a bright smile.
Their names have mostly been lost to time. But these grinning men were someone’s brother, son, husband, father. They were human beings, people who took immense pleasure in the utter cruelty of torturing others to death—and were so proud of doing so that they posed for photographs with their handiwork, jostling to ensure they caught the eye of the lens, so that the world would know they’d been there. Their cruelty made them feel good, it made them feel proud, it made them feel happy. And it made them feel closer to one another.
