Helldiver's The Movie

Hear me out guys. I feel like a movie for Helldiver’s has some potential. Arrowhead could build a Helldiver’s universe and dive into Managed Democracy or it could just be a series of weird dystopian events involving bugs and automatons. Either way with the right care it could make Starship Troopers look like the original...

I knew a lot of people who did not recognise that Starship Troopers was parody.

Look up specifc Linux compatibility tests for the models, I vaguely remember seeing that at least some Legion versions have very bad compatibility.

You’re experiencing some powerful Dunning Kruger effect.

Super underrated, the final fight is a letdown but the rest of the film is on par with the first.

Such a niche reference, but so good. If you know it you can’t not hear the voice.

Yeah the narrative is that Spurs need to rush to put a winning team around Wemby but I think that’s an overreaction, and SAS is the organisation that you know is going to stick to the plan. It’s frustrating that this draft is so weak, but if there’s any hidden gold in there SAS have a great record of finding it.

Are you a legal expert? Is the fact that this is “art” not a more complex legal issue?

edit: Quote from the article: “Mona’s legal team will be relying on the tribunal’s interpretation of section 26 of Tasmania’s Anti-Discrimination Act, under which a person is permitted to discriminate against another person in a situation designed to promote equal opportunity for a group of people who are disadvantaged or have a special need because of a prescribed attribute – in this case gender. It is under clauses like this in most of Australia’s anti-discrimination legislation that organisations such as male-only clubs and women-only gyms are able to operate.”

The difference between a racial slur and an acceptably shortened country name is a matter of history. “Aussie” should never be seen as a slur because it has never been a commonly used racial insult. Context is important.

[System-agnostic] Running intelligent and informed adversaries that feel fair

So, I like stories where everyone is competent, and as a GM I try to run my villains as playing to win. My goal is for the players to have a good time, but the enemies will use every resource at their disposal to achieve their aims: they will retreat if continuing to give battle is a bad idea, they will go scorched earth if...

Gamify this stuff. Instead of a single silent alarm causing the players to get ambushed, have a threat level that you’re tracking that requires multiple triggers to end up in the worst case scenario. Give players in-game feedback that this is happening (they notice there’s a higher frequency of patrols, overhear guards getting new orders, etc). Give players mechanisms to reduce the threat level (waiting until things cool down, hacking security systems, stealth takedown of guards, etc).

As much as it is tempting to do pure simulation in a realistic way, it doesn’t always make for a fun game. Fun almost always comes from interesting and meaningful decisions for the players. Having invisible triggers going off behind the scenes that the players will never know about is only interesting for the GM.

[Starlink] was released in Australia in 2021 and offers unlimited data for $139 per month plus a hardware cost of roughly $599, with speeds comparable to the NBN’s 100-megabit plans.

Why the fuck would people be swapping to this when it is an extra $40-$50 a month for “comparable” speeds?! This article obviously has an agenda.

Looking for some advice on OP players

Not really sure what to do about this situation. I have a group that meets monthly. We do a lot of roleplay, but a few of my players are very into being OP at combat. They want to build their characters the strongest and the best. So I alternatively get requests to both break rules and strictly apply rules so they’ll get...

Anyone remember Secret Valley? At one point my family was planning on moving to a largish property in/near bushland and me and my brothers had drawn up detailed blueprints for a fortified base complete with treetop platforms connected by rope swings, pitfall traps and catapults, inspired by the show.

It’s the best for PvP but the worst for PvE. The art and animation quality is noticeably poorer than the other games and the level design is needlessly punitive with little room for mastery other than exploits.
