But but my dynamic tiling ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Edit: nvm, still on Plasma 5.

But what about HFP/HSP? Can I actually use my new earbuds mics with the Deck now?

Enabled support for Bluetooth A2DP and BAP profiles

Scio,

This too is brilliant!

Do you have any write-ups or something about how you make this series OP?

Scio,

Well, you now have an audience of at the very least one more, if a latecomer!

Thank you very much for the link!

Scio,

I miss some parts of Kbin, but Iโ€™m very glad to have a perfectly functional save feature in Photonโ€ฆ

Scio,

I didnโ€™t expect Rentals to be as infuriating as they are. But Iโ€™d take them over an even smaller hand any dayโ€ฆ

Scio,

You will have to pry Bismuth from my cold dead fingers, Plasma 6!!

Iโ€™ve never enjoyed longform campaign actual plays much either. Itโ€™s just not feasible to keep up with, and unless youโ€™re playing, most campaign RPGs have too much bookkeeping to pay attention to. And even as a background listen, which Iโ€™m sure is how most people do it, gets dull.

And yet Iโ€™ve watched quite a few though. It works only if I enjoy the people playing, their wits etc. I have no chemistry with Critical Roll, Mercer included. But really enjoyed Acquisition Incorporated: C Team.

But these days the only kind of APs I find myself watching and consistently enjoying is faster indie RPG one-shots. In particular, Mystery Quest (YouTube) where Tom runs a one-shot for a rotating cast of friends (all of whom very funny people) each month. No miniatures, barely any rules referencing. The heaviest game they run is CoC, and it never gets in the way! Thereโ€™s even a โ€œduetโ€ Thousand Year Old Vampire session that went surprisingly well.

Anytime any other podcast or channel I already follow for their humor and chemistry does a one shot I also like to listen. The short ones are always a delight. No fatigue, no fomo. It works.

I donโ€™t think Iโ€™d ever even consider watching a campaign AP had I started here. There are just not fun unless youโ€™re in them, playing.

Scio,

I used to do that as wellโ€”playing them in bed with a timer when I couldnโ€™t sleep. All familiar and cozy :]

Only stopped once I realized I couldnโ€™t remember must beyond the first few minutes which was still enough to trigger โ€œFOMOโ€!

A Solution To Web Browsing (in Qutebrowser) And Text Input Without Touchscreen Keyboard Or Mouse (piggybacking on Vim keybindings) (sopuli.xyz)

I am still in the process of ironing out how I want my control scheme, but when looking for a web browser to run in Gaming Mode on my Steam Deck that worked well (Firefox was being funky when run in Gaming Mode/Big Picture) I experimented a little bit with Qutebrowser....

Scio,

I too would like to test out this control scheme

Scio,

This thing really does have everything ๐Ÿฅฒ

Thank you very much for the Linux coverage for it. Does the stylus still work in external display mode? That would be the dreamโ€ฆ

Scio,

Itโ€™s nice to let your soul loose once in a whileโ€ฆ

Scio,

I would like to know this as well.

So far, it seems itโ€™s a bit easier to do with Podman / โ€œstandard OCI containersโ€ because theyโ€™re rootless and get stored in my home directory. But the solution I keep seeing is to move the directory and then symlink or mount bind the folder. I do the latter so that podman continues to work when that external drive isnโ€™t connected.

This does actually work, but I really donโ€™t like it. Why isnโ€™t there a way to store a container entirely in a specific location and then run straight from that location?

The alternative is to provide Podman a custom storage.conf for a specific location. But that too is a โ€œpermanentโ€ change. I would love to know a cleaner solution to portable containers!

Scio,

Thank you for the link! Iโ€™m not even OP but would use the heck out of this

Introducing Steam Families (steamcommunity.com)

When you join a Steam Family, you automatically gain access to the shareable games that your family members own and they will also be able to access the shareable titles in your library. The next time you log in to Steam, this new โ€˜family libraryโ€™ will appear in the left column as a subsection of your games list. You...

Scio,

With cooldowns for abuse prevention now on the table, I wish Valve will consider adding something like a โ€œday passโ€ for Steam friends where they can share their librariesโ€”or perhaps specific gamesโ€”for a short duration to someone they know without having to adopt them.

With cooldowns they would find appropriate, of course. And I hope that isnโ€™t a whole yearโ€ฆ

Or more simply: The internet is just the network. The web is one of the handful of โ€œappsโ€ that run directly using that network. It just also happens to be able to run apps of its own these days and is a pretty โ€œkillerโ€ one at that :)

(Edit: please disregard the wrong link that summoned the bot below. Itโ€™s been fixed. And I do not have a Balatro problemโ€ฆ)

What's the state of the art for KDE Connect Clipboard Sync?

A couple of years ago with my old phone (running if I donโ€™t remember wrong Android Pie) and my old laptop (running Manjaro KDE) I discovered KDEConnect and how it could enable a clipboard sharing feature similar to the one Apple provides between Macs and iPhones. It was great! Now, after having changed both my phone (now...

Scio,

PC to phone: works perfectly (regular desktop and Steam Deck used regularly).

Phone to PC: only works by clicking the share clipboard action within the KDE connect app each time. But I recently discovered the quick settings tile and now itโ€™s almost as convenient as before if not more secure.

That, or Magisk ofc.

Scio,

Is this why I have to wait upwards of 5 minutes to be able to actually use my SN30 Pro+ even after itโ€™s connected? Iโ€™ve only ever tried this docked, will try undocked today.

In my case, I just assumed itโ€™s Steam taking itโ€™s time to realize the external container takes precedence. After three few minutes of waiting it works just fine, and the UI instantly switches between XBox/Nintendo layouts and the Deck controllerโ€™s layout when I press buttons on either device.

I have also done this while in desktop mode, and while the system starts registering the controller events as soon as it connects, Big Picture still takes its sweet time, and by extension using the controller to control the desktop does too.

Unless something has changed since I bought it, the Pro+ can still only be flashed on Windows, at least officially. But the Pro 2 can be flashed on the Android app. Typical, eh?

Edit: It send fwupd can flash these, at least the non-Pro and Pro-nonplussed. And the Deck already has is installed too! Googling moreโ€ฆ

Editception: Pro+ is indeed covered. But the amount of fwupd GitHub issues talking about things going wrong for the SN30 Pro+ during the update now has me scared.

Scio,

Great news!

Donโ€™t have any Windows PCs nearby, soโ€ฆ ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿงฑ
