Find a decent MSP and grind there for a few years. It’ll suck but you’ll touch a ton of different environments in a short time, and get exposed to all sorts of broken things.

A few tools that I’ve seen come up which look interesting:

I’d recommend running your resume through ats tools.

Not sure, I’ve been out of that space for a long time.

The industry is pretty bad right now everywhere, it’ll pick back up… eventually.

[Request] Components/Tools List for DIY, analog 'Beginner Electronics' Kit?

I’m new to electronics and looking to assemble an array of components and tools for working on and designing electronics & circuits. Something immediately apparent is that all of the widely available kits orient you towards working with microcontrollers and SBCs; these kits are cool, but I want to have a halfway decent...

For a desk power supply I highly recommend these.

You’ll need a higher voltage PSU to put in front. I recommend meanwell.

I’m happy to export your data for you from the database if you want it, but I don’t have an easy way to do that beyond writing queries by hand for each table. Is there some subset specifically that you’re looking for?

We don’t log any IP addresses except web server access logs temporarily, and we can’t identify which log entries are which users. There’s no login history in the DB, it doesn’t even log the last login for a user.

If you’re willing to write the queries for the data you want, I don’t mind reviewing them and then giving you the output.

No. I’m technical enough to figure out how, but way too lazy to bother.

I used to suck on them until I found out the coating is supposed to prevent you from destroying your stomach lining. Now I sadly swallow them right away.

Humans can be pretty good at exchanging information with only the most subtle body movements.

With the hw MCE errors, it’s probably toast.

You could try reseating or swapping the ram around, if it’s socketed

No way. It’s ai.

The lane markers make no sense. The lines are too perfect in the clouds and flowers.

Shadow,

The lane markers on the road seem completely arbitrarily placed. Neither the length or spacing are consistent.

Oh crazy, he shows the pics around the area too. Nice work on his part, I didn’t believe it at all.

I used the pen once on my fold when I first got it, and never again.

Take my pen, give me that mm

I have a sliding door that I want to toss a stepper motor on, so my dog can push a button and let himself in / out.

It's 2024, why do we still have buildings that use lights instead of sunlight during the day?

That’s all I want to ask. It’s 2024, people. Shouldn’t all of our buildings have more skylights and windows at this point? Why am I still seeing buildings that have lights running during the day? Why are buildings still being built in ways where we need to rely on artificial light when the sun is shining?!? So much money...

Shadow,
@Shadow@lemmy.ca avatar

Because more windows would probably use more energy than having a more insulated building with lights.

As someone with experience hosting high traffic sites, it’s probably both. Roughly 40% of the traffic I see to lemmy.ca is bots.

They’re also trying to block any people scraping for AI. There’s going to be numerous reasons behind this.

I know Disney+ also blocks hosting provider space. I’ve had users complain since our office / VPN are routed through our DC.

I know datacenters have an IP range, and they could ban all IPs from all datacenters. But why?

Because it’s 99% abusive traffic.
