Why is it that not a single journalist has saw fit to question whether it was wise for the Prime Minister to attend an event with a noted racist, who now has major companies abandoning his platform due to antisemitism?

The meeting was only about two weeks ago. Space Karen's disgusting rhetoric and actions were already public knowledge before this latest controversy.
Other politicians are heavily scrutinised for meetings they had with people over a decade ago.

Why is Sunak the exception?

How bad is it when major corporations like IBM, Apple, Disney, Comcast, Warner Brothers Discovery, Paramount, Lionsgate, and now Sony have to be the ones to distance themselves from antisemitism for a serious discussion about the damage one egotistical billionaire is doing can be had?

This should be an albatross around the neck of Rishi Sunak for years to come.

And it's not like politicians can't say "no" to appearing at events with deeply unpleasant people.

The Prime Minister has repeatedly claimed that he wants to harshly tackle antisemitism since the start of the Israeli invasion of Gaza.

Here he is two weeks ago laughing with Space Karen, who recently posted that he fully agrees that Jews push anti-white hatred.

The platform that Apartheid Clyde owns also happens to pay white nationalist Tucker Carlson to produce a show. Including a recent edition where he accused Jews and the Israeli lobby of funding "white genocide".

Trebles all round.

David DePape, the man who attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer took the stand in his trial.

Let's see Tim Pool disassociate himself from this one, now that his name has been mentioned on the stand as one of the podcasts the attacker would regularly listen to.

There is something that has been slightly overlooked when it comes to Suella Braverman seemingly asking to be sacked.

Rishi Sunak became Prime Minister on the 25th of October 2022.
Under the Tory Party rules, it's only after someone has been Prime Minister for a year that a no-confidence motion can be lodged with the 1922 Committee.

There would need to letters submitted from 15% (53) of sitting Tory MPs to the chair of the committee, who I believe is still Graham Brady, to trigger a vote.

At least 92 of the 105 arrested at the protests in London today were from the 'counter demonstration'. Or to put it bluntly, the far-right thugs who went specifically to look for a fight and make themselves feel better by being openly racist in public.

I guarantee that the focus though by certain pundits will be entirely on the two people with pro-Hamas slogans that the Metropolitan Police are now looking for.
Because they do that EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN TIME!

@ShredderLivesOn@mastodon.scot avatar

Suella Braverman genuinely has tried to conflate a pro-Palestinian march that had about 10 arrests from nearly 100,000 people, to incidents like this that are fairly typical when the far-right protest.

In this case it was supporters of Stephen Yaxley-Lennon fighting the police because they objected to him being sent to prison for contempt of court.

But take your pick, from the people "defending statues" after Colston was toppled, to people who did counter-BLM demos for similar scenes.

The push for so-called self-driving cars has me begging for a modern version of Ralph Nader to advocate for tougher legislation.

There's no way that automotive companies should have been getting away with using customers to beta-test their systems, as has happened in America.

There should have been far more rigorous standards and safety testing required before they even let a handful of demonstration models loose on the roads.

Rishi Sunak is apparently set to do an interview with Apartheid Clyde.

There was me thinking that the office of Prime Minister couldn't be lowered any further after Liz Truss tanked the economy and was outlived by a lettuce, or the disaster that was BoJo the Clown.

But here we are.

Dominic Cummings is giving evidence to the COVID inquiry.

Naturally he's deflecting blame away from himself for the mess the government was in during the early stages of the pandemic.

He's also lied to the inquiry by claiming that BoJo the Clown had almost died of COVID-19.
His medical records showed that when he was admitted to hospital, he received low level oxygen treatment as a precaution. He didn't require being put on a ventilator. Nor was he even close to it.

BoJo the Clown is to present a show on GammonBox News.

That sadly isn't a joke.

Oddly enough, this isn't the worst incident of plagiarism by Rachel Reeves.

That would have to be when in 2016 she seemingly lifted from Enoch Powell's infamous 'Rivers of Blood' speech, warning of potential race riots, and suggesting some communities were a potential "tinderbox" if immigration wasn't drastically curbed following the Brexit vote.

She has not apologised for this speech in the following 7 years.
Not did Labour denounce the speech when she made it.

@zleap Copyright expires 70 years after the death of the author.
Which in Powell's case would be 2068.

Even if it was after the speech itself was delivered, that would be 2038, as it was 1968 that he gave it.

ShredderLivesOn,
@ShredderLivesOn@mastodon.scot avatar

@zleap MPs and various other elected officials have form for plagiarising for speeches.

For example Daniel Hannan when he was a Tory MEP was praised for a speech he gave at the EU in 2009, where he called Gordon Brown "the devalued Prime Minister of a devalued Government".

He had stolen that from a statement that the late John Smith had made across the despatch box to Tory Prime Minister John Major in 1992.

In case like me you missed this story, GammonBox News was banned from the internal TV system at the Senedd.

Naturally their "reporters" and gammon viewers think that this was a decision by the Labour government and Plaid Cymru.
When it was actually the Senedd Commission, which consists of the Presiding Officer and 4 Assembly Members selected by the parties.
They banned them over the conduct of the network, and the numerous Ofcom investigations.

The gammon can still access GBeebies online.

The BBC twice conflated marches in solidarity with Palestinians, and against the brutality being carried out against civilians in violation of Article 33 of the Geneva Convention, to solidarity with Hamas.

There is no solidarity with Hamas.
If Israel was simply responding to Hamas, nobody would be outraged or upset besides the most rabid of anti-Semites.
But shutting off water, power, fuel, and aid to the civilian population, ordering mass relocation, and using white phosphorus are war crimes.

ShredderLivesOn,
@ShredderLivesOn@mastodon.scot avatar

@russellt I really wish I knew.

Writing to the BBC Trust seems pointless. Almost every time their news department does something as egregious as this, they just fob complainants off.

Even then it generally takes months for them to give any kind of response. By which point the damage was long done, and the smear of being pro-Hamas is already in the public mindset.

ShredderLivesOn,
@ShredderLivesOn@mastodon.scot avatar

@Stoat @russellt That also really depends on who your MP is.

If it's anyone like Margaret Hodge, who has equated any condemnation of Israel's war crimes in response to Hamas, as anti-Semitism, being pro-Hamas, pro-dead Israelis, and wanting Israel wiped from the face of the Earth, then it's a massive waste of time.

I would though like to hear from her now, since Labour have reversed their position and did condemn the collective punishment in the Commons.

GammonBox has suspended Calvin Robinson.
This comes on the back of Robinson publicly refusing to fill Dan Wootton's timeslot this evening, and lambasting his bosses at the network for suspending Wootton.

The head of GBeebies meanwhile has gone on record that Laurence Fox's comments were beyond the pale.
Which suggests that Fox is likely to be sacked.

Calvin Robinson was pretty much asking for this, when he's trying to publicly embarrass his bosses further.

BREAKING: Dan Wootton has been suspended by GBeebies.

This news came off the back of Ava Evans revealing on PoliticsJOE that Wootton was lying when he said that he claimed to have allowed his show to get out of hand.

Laurence Fox posted evidence to social media that Wootton and his producers not only knew what he was going to say in regards to Ava Evans. But that they were all really proud of it after the broadcast ended.

Birmingham City Council declares bankruptcy, and will only be able to provide "core services" moving forward.

The council blames the increase in their £760 million bill on equal pay.
Payments have risen from £5 million per month to £14 million.

We have this problem in Scotland too, with numerous councils suffering financially from the aftermath of paying women less.
Which coupled with PFI debt is Labour's poisonous legacy at local government.

Worth remembering that the Tories opted not to pursue people who stole billions in COVID relief loans.

They included party donors.
John Beckwith for example received £3.7 million in 2020 for his company Tempus Courts Development Ltd.
A company that did not trade in 2019, and was registered dormant with Companies House in 2018 with just £60 of assets.

His son told Bloomberg that the loan was to refinance borrowings against properties owned by their parent company, which was registered active.

ShredderLivesOn,
@ShredderLivesOn@mastodon.scot avatar

But because the money had been loaned to Tempus Courts Development Ltd, it meant that Mortar Tempus Court LLP couldn't be pursued to return it.
Even though it reportedly went to them.

That would be clear cut fraud. And went unpunished.

But people who were overpaid, and had no knowledge of it at the very bottom are being brutally punished.

Fuck the Tories.
