Many years ago I heard of an activist who answered the phone "Ready for revolution!" and Leonard and I jested about a milquetoast version where someone would answer their phone "Ready for referendum!"

Am reckoning with the fact that middle-aged, institution-building, reformist Sumana is by habit much more a "Ready for referendum!" kind of gal. Or, at least, I feel unready for revolution. I am settled in a city, a marriage, a career, a circle of colleagues and friends, & a rather stable self.
