Spacebar,

And.now you’ve been “unfairly” banned here on lemmy.ml.

What you people don’t understand is that intolerance isn’t a right. No one has to, and no one ever should, tolerate you being intolerant of others.

a megathread for developments on Reddit and with third-party Reddit apps

just so this doesn't overwhelm our front page too much, i think now's a good time to start consolidating discussions. existing threads will be kept up, but unless a big update comes let's try to keep what's happening in this thread instead of across 10....

Spacebar,

You are only going to have success with a physical barrier. Consider rat bait boxes, as well keeping up as the traps, but the rats must have a food source next door, so they will never be able to be eradicated by you alone. One rat will destroy your whole crop.

Make a cage out of coated chicken wire. It had to be a box shape, covered on the top as well, it also has to extend outward 1 foot on the ground from the base of the "box."

Visualize a cardboard box with the open side on the ground and the flaps extended on the ground.

Spacebar,

Four sticks in the ground for corners, then zip ties to hold it all together. Cover the outward flaps with soil or mulch to confuse those rat fckrs.

Spacebar,

"A source told Axios that Carlson was told by a senior Fox executive that the network's goal is to keep him sidelined until 2025."

Wow, for once I am in agreement with Fox News.

Spacebar,

Honest question. Is there a constitutional reason gun owners can't be required to have liability insurance for the guns they own?

Spacebar,

My shop is imakewoodenbowls.com but these are not on there. I'm selling at an artist fair this weekend and they will be sold there.

Spacebar,

If you see a thread on Reddit that you are interested in, consider making a similar one here.

I don't want a reddit 2.0, I want what lemmy may become on its own.

Why are there automatically banned users on my instance? (lemmy.pineapplemachine.com)

I haven't banned anyone, and as far as I know none of the other users on my instance currently have moderation privileges. So why am I seeing two users in a "banned" list when I visit my instance settings page? What horrible, unforgivable things did these users have to do for my instance to ban them seemingly of its own...

Spacebar,

If they are banned on their home instance, then are they banned everywhere? Does it work like an email address, where if your hosting server (Gmail for instance) bans your email address, then you can no longer send or recieve emails?

So if your home lemmy server bans you, then how could you ever post anywhere else?

Spacebar,

Sounds good to me. Please proceed, Mr. Santos.

Following remote communities is hard.

It's easy to discover communities on my instance via the dedicated page in the hamburger menu. But let's say I want to follow a community on another instance, such as !lemmy . I might have found its name mentioned in a post or comment. When I click on the provided link, I'm thrown on that instances web page, from which I of...

Spacebar,

I agree. Lemmy doesn't have to replace Reddit, it just has to be a working alternative.

Over time Lemmy may gain a much wider audience, but as long as it has enough users to be entertaining and informative, then it will be a good alternative to corporate social media.

Spacebar,

Vote. In. Every. Election.

If you know an 18 year old, go to the polls with them. Help get them started. If you know someone whom doesn't vote, convince them to vote.

We outnumber all of these fascists and if we all voted (and I don't care who you vote for) then the power of these billionaire would be severely diminished.

Spacebar,

I've had a samsung fold for 3 years now. Had the 2nd Gen, then upgraded to the 3rd Gen 2 years ago due to the water and dust resistance.

I've had zero reliability problems. I love it and can never go back.

Spacebar,

Right now there is a planned 2050 landing mission for Enceladus. I wish it were sooner!

Spacebar,

Reddit is too popular now. They're going to have an IPO eventually and then it will really go down hill.

Might as well get on the ground floor of something new.

Spacebar,

Because they don't have the artistic skill themselves and they are parasitic by nature? So they latch onto a tool that itself is a parasite?

Spacebar,

Even when he's silent we are hearing about him.
