TheFake_VIP, to linux

needs more exposure to mainstream users, and needs to be accessible on .

Everyone forgets about it, yet it's a respectible browser engine to my knowledge, and nobody seems to use it besides Apple and some light weight Linux browsers. In this browser monoculture, I'm unsure of why it isn't more popular with the alternative browser developers and users.

TheFake_VIP,

Like, as someone who cares about competition in this space, I know about Brave, Vivaldy and all the other Chromium based browsers, I obviously know about Firefox, and I even know about some of its forks, like Pale Moon and LibreWolf, but if you asked me what browsers were available using Webkit, and how to get them, the only real answer I would have for you is "Get a mac, use Safari." I need to investigate this more.

TheFake_VIP, to random

I have recently taken to getting my entertainment by slowing my iPhone's speech rate down to 70%, and setting VoiceOver to auto-read pages from bash.org and qdb.us (via the wayback machine). Of course, not all the quotes are good, but plenty of them get at least a titter, and especially on QDB, there are quite a few per page, so I don't have to flip pages that often. I just leave it reading while I do other things.

This very well make me the saddest, nerdiest person to have ever walked this earth. :)

TheFake_VIP,

@miki We need a new, modern QDB site. I've been thinking of making one for quite a while now.

TheFake_VIP,

@miki Probably a lot less than before, but I still feel there's a devoted nich for it. And it doesn't all have to be IRC quotes (qdb.us wasn't), which broadens the amount of content that can be submitted.

TheFake_VIP, to accessibility

people of the fediverse: tell me your horror stories. I want to know what you all consider to be the most annoying common accessibility issue. I'm talking in general, but specific examples are alright too.

I'm creating a presentation / video about accessibility from a blind (my) perspective for uni, for a CompScie undergrad audience, and I want to include examples of common issues that developers should make sure to prevent.

TheFake_VIP, to fediverse

As a general rule of thumb, I won't follow anyone who:

• Hasn't posted anything yet.

• Doesn't have a bio

It's not that I don't like or don't trust you if you're one of those people, but because ActivityPub has no big scarey algorithm backing it, you must put actual effort into curating your feed. I imagine this is true for quite a few others on the .
