    Color and visual perception looks a lot deeper than what I've been exposed to as a graphics person.

    mate, color and visual perception is a lot deeper than color and visual perception researchers have been exposed to. honestly, it's the pre-renaissance / dark ages over here.

    @demofox

    Yeah well that will require first understanding very basic aspects of visual perception as they apply to computer graphics. I wrote a bit about this a few years back. https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0113159

    The hardest part about refuting Y2K disinfo is how many problems were fixed quietly, in part to mitigate risk of ligitation (negligence, etc.). People have stories they can't tell.

    At this point, I think enough years have passed that a formal amnesty - to encourage companies to disclose just how bad some of the problems were - would be in our historical best interest.

    I'm still enjoying SwiftData, but there are some sharp edges around relationships that make total sense when you think about them, but I initially thought would just work as upserts.

    Intrinsic image decomposition. The "inverse shading" approach is similar to the blackness representation in gamut relativity and the Colors app, being a log inverted & anchored map from the luminance domain. Very interesting. cc @troy_s

    @robotistry@sciencemastodon.com avatar

    @longcovid A question.

    I found this in the below article:
    "The line that you see on a test “is actually made up of millions and millions of little antibodies holding onto a dye,” ... the only reason those antibodies are able to stick to the line is that they’re also stuck to the virus antigens."

    So even if you're infected and have lots of circulating antigen, if you don't make the antibodies you'll never get a positive RAT result?
