Venat0r,

Typically reparations are paid after signing a treaty, a cease fire could be a step towards that.

Samsung Requires Independent Repair Shops to Share Customer Data, Snitch on People Who Use Aftermarket Parts, Leaked Contract Shows (www.404media.co)

In exchange for selling them repair parts, Samsung requires independent repair shops to give Samsung the name, contact information, phone identifier, and customer complaint details of everyone who gets their phone repaired at these shops, according to a contract obtained by 404 Media. Stunningly, it also requires these nominally...

Venat0r,

The majority of people are unaware or just don’t care.

Venat0r,

You might call them a menace to society but I know which video I’m clicking 😂

Venat0r,

If you actually need to haul stuff a van is vastly superior in most scenarios. The only use case that a pickup truck really makes sense for is for towing, but even then something like a range rover seems like a better option?

Venat0r, (edited )

It won’t replace any jobs entirely, it will just reduce the number of people needed for each job.

Not that there’s much difference if you’re the one being made redundant.

‘It’s all been preposterous’: Stephen Merchant on fame, standup and the pressures of cancel culture (www.theguardian.com)

Stephen Merchant has always been obsessed by the idea of the ordinary man “thrust into extraordinary circumstance”. Since he was a kid in Bristol, the son of a plumber and a nursery nurse, those were the kinds of films he sought out and the stories he wrote, about normal people who experience something that “jolts them out...

Venat0r,

I don’t think stand up has changed that much, it’s more that being famous changed his experience of doing stand up, although the time between telling a joke and people who weren’t there being offended is probably a bit shorter than it used to be due to things like twitter.

Venat0r,

The ketchup is just out of shot on the table 🤣

Venat0r, (edited )

Sounds like something from psychonauts

Venat0r,

It’s so simple: almost as simple as stop burning oil and using plastic packaging and invading other countries and using slave labour…

Venat0r,
Venat0r,

What makes you think gun control is facist? The Nazis relaxed thier gun control laws(except for jews obviously): en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_control_in_Germany#Gu…

Venat0r,

Related to that: A really good video by Johnny Harris that also talks about how the idea of a militia got defined in US law: youtu.be/wnBDK-QNZkM

Oh and also a relevant episode of the revisionist history podcast: pushkin.fm/…/guns-part-2-getting-out-of-dodge

Venat0r,

I’ve heard that food in the US is generally bad, so maybe not the best comparison 😜 😂

Venat0r,

True, it’s not American cuisine that’s bad, apparently McDonald’s hamburgers taste better in NZ than the USA too, probably because all the beef here is grass fed.

Venat0r,

That’s a really good point 😂

Venat0r,

“What’s happening in the Gaza Strip with the Palestinian people hasn’t happened at any other moment in history. Actually, it has happened: when Hitler decided to kill the Jews.”

And also in Sri Lanka, Chechnya, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Darfur, People’s Republic of China, Myanmar. South Sudan, Islamic State (ISIL or ISIS), Yemen, Ethiopia, Ukraine, Nagorno-KarabakhAmong others

Venat0r,

Is it the dwarven kingdoms out mining humanity? Is gold simply more common or perhaps available in easier, more concentrated ores?

Probably a bit of both I’d imagine.
