@Vivaldi

After the latest update I have huge spacers/margins on the top and bottom of my bar that wasn't there before, is there a setting I can use to get it back to being compact?

Vivaldi,
@Vivaldi@vivaldi.net avatar

@sotolf Hey, having a hard time reproducing this behavior. Could you check in a guest profile if it still looks the same?

Vivaldi,
@Vivaldi@vivaldi.net avatar

@sotolf Adjusting the UI scaling acts as expected here, and even with the settings you have in the image we're not able to reproduce the behavior.

You could attempt a reset of your appearance settings and see if that helps. 🤔

@Vivaldi upgrading to 6.0.2979.15 on macOS broke my feeds.. When I click on the panel for feeds it just offers me the option to add feeds... when I go into the configuration/settings for feeds, I see them there.

Any recommendation for a fix? Thanks.

@0x58 What have you already done in terms of troubleshooting? This does not sound fun.

CLeituga, to random

Really need to stop updating @Vivaldi. I'm already at 5 crashes today. 152 tabs should be nothing.

Vivaldi,
@Vivaldi@vivaldi.net avatar

@CLeituga This is quite a lot, have you sent us your crash logs so that we can look into the issues. Are there any particular actions, features or such that appears to trigger each crash?

Vivaldi,
@Vivaldi@vivaldi.net avatar

@Shentok Could you give us more info on this? The suggestion appears in the drop-down, but clicking on it does not auto-fill it?

@Vivaldi
Just wondering, is there an option using sync to to move/open/list all opened tabs from my mobile on a desktop machine? There is no 'bookmark all open tabs' option on android, is there?
Thnx.

Vivaldi,
@Vivaldi@vivaldi.net avatar

@remcoboerma You can open all tabs from you android device in your Desktop browser, in the tab bar there is a cloud symbol that allows you to access your synced tab.

Select the device/window you want to pull and at the bottom of the tab list is a "Open all" button. :tony_wee:

There's no "bookmark all open tabs" option on Android

@Vivaldi Workspaces are addictive but man, how did I live without this feature?

Does it have the added benefit of Firefox containers, keeping workspace separate and unable to read what is happening in another?

Vivaldi,
@Vivaldi@vivaldi.net avatar

@jppelt No, workspaces are not isolated in the same way as containers would be.

You can find and upvote the feature request for Multi Account Containers here:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/25289/multi-account-containers

It's tagged as nice to have, as we've looked at it and would like to implement it in the future, though for the time being it's not possible for us to implement it.

@Vivaldi I'm a long time user and I discovered this test https://privacytests.org/ . Can you comment on the result? As far as privacy is concerned, Vivaldi is not doing very well.

Vivaldi,
@Vivaldi@vivaldi.net avatar

@ra5 @MIfoodie Hey, added a link here with our initial reply to these tests.
https://vivaldi.com/security/common-questions/#privacytests

We can also add that the tester does these tests with our tracker and ad blocker turned off under the guise of "It's not default", not going through the browser onboarding on new installations. What level of blocking you want is the second option there.

@isaacl You can change where the Panel toggle is in Toolbar Customization. Just right click on your toolbar and select Customize Toolbar and you can move, add or remove buttons to set it up as it suits you.

    @mitexleo Yes, we are.

    Vivaldi,
    @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net avatar

    @mitexleo What is the bug number, will keep it on watch.

    Keep in mind that last week was very busy due to the launch, so some correspondance will take time. :tony_normal: We're sure it won't be long until you hear back from us.

    Vivaldi,
    @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net avatar

    @mitexleo Thank you, that does look quite annoying. Will ask if anyone has looked into it, it's for the moment unconfirmed.

    So my solution to @Vivaldi not restoring tabs and tab stacks to their new workspaces upon restart is to just leave my browser open forever.

    I don't know how sustainable that is, but hopefully in the next couple days it will get fixed.

    Else, goodbye Vivaldi, I hardly knew you, hello Firefox once again.

    (edit: and yes, I filed the bug)

    Vivaldi,
    @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net avatar

    @thelinuxcast Hello, this is of course not intended behavior. Could you quickly give us the bug number which you received when you filed the bug?

    Hey, @Vivaldi! I just upgraded and now my address bar doesn't extend all the way across the window. How can I get this back?

    Vivaldi,
    @Vivaldi@vivaldi.net avatar

    @eagerpebble Not in the addressbar settings, the Toolbar Customization. Right click the Toolbar, not the addressbar and select "Customize Toolbar". Depending on where you click you might have to open the "Edit..." category before the option appears.

    This is probably how people should pick their browser.

    @mitexleo @ondrejsevcik Here's what we've previous said about it.

    The test is also run without the browser's ad and tracker blocker turned on under the guise of it "Not being default" as the tester does not go through the onboarding.
