Thursday:
112 seconds of plank
11 minutes of yoga for runners
20 minutes of HIIT
30 minutes of strength training
~6km of #cycling to the site and to the next meeting spot.
No time for #running today; had to be onsite early, but I can say that pulling fibre itself is a great workout. We're in good shape for the upcoming music festival. Should be a fun season when that starts next month.
Wednesday:
104 seconds of plank
11 minutes of yoga for runners
30 minutes of HIIT
20 minutes of strength training
23km of #cycling (16°C)
Then, a quick shower, and biked to today’s site, spent two hours in a comfortable server room (quite cool to normal types), broke for lunch, then spent two hours pulling fibre outside, couldn't figure out why I was dying, biked home, and saw that there was a Humidex of 38°C.
Tuesday:
101 seconds of plank
11 minutes of yoga for runners
20 minutes of HITT
30 minutes of strength training
7.4 km of #running (18°C, light rain)
Pretty good morning workouts, all told. Enjoyed the light rain which I expected to turn into a downpour based on the radar, but for whatever reason, I missed it.
My onsite today was cancelled, so I'm playing catchup on other work before I go make lunch.
Monday:
131 seconds of plank
11 minutes of yoga for runners
30 minutes of HIIT
21 minutes of strength training
25km of #cycing (19°C)
Productive morning; got all the workouts done, helped @TAV with getting her paddleboard in the Rideau, then a nice bike ride (Rideau River Eastern Pathway to Hog's back, along the canal, over the locks, through the Arboretum, along Dow’s Lake and back into Lowertown. Got some work done sitting in the back, started laundry, and made lunch.
Been a busy day; slept in, 23 km of cycling with @TAV, brunch, groceries, TAV cut my hair, washed the windows, hung new curtains, tidied up, played some Minecraft, and … now I'm caught up here.
Tomorrow's a holiday here (Victoria Day), so I think I'll split the difference; sleep in to 6:30, then work half the day. 🤔
@WTL And… did it work out? Did you get to ten full hours of sleep? Around here, holidays just started, so I‘ll get a lot of sleep – ahhhh, the lush life!
Friday:
102 seconds of plank
11 minutes of yoga for runners
30 minutes of HIIT
20 minutes of strength training
5.24 km of #running (17°C, 100% humidity)
Everything up to the run was tough, but fine. The run was best described as suffering in motion. By the time I was done, there was a Humidex of 26°C, and I did not handle it well.
It's mid-May and it's too hot out in the morning. I know this is only going to get worse, short and long term.
@WTL I was just asking because my doc wrote in his report after my check-up that I maybe should be evaluating some sporting alternatives to running… (last sentence). I‘ll try. Promise!
Wednesday:
93 seconds of plank
11 minutes of yoga for runners
11 and 20 minutes of HIIT
20 minutes of strength training
6.2 km of #running (11°C, light rain, with 17km/hr wind)
Accidentally picked a 10 minute HITT when I meant a 30 minute… so I did two, both of which were hard. 🤣
My running heart rate is up (~146 this run vs ~125-130). I think it’s the workouts beforehand and not completely recovering before the run.
Light rain was nice. I don't mind getting wet. It's like free cooling.
Tuesday:
122 seconds of plank
11 minutes of yoga for runners
20 minutes of HIIT
30 minutes of strength training
24km of #Cycling (14°C)
Very different today; both the HIIT and strength training felt easier/fun, and the ride was pretty good — and then it started to rain. 🤣 Honestly, it wasn't that bad, I don't mind getting wet. It certainly felt windier than the forecast indicated. 🤷🏻
