Thursday:
125 seconds of plank
11 minutes of yoga for runners ()
20 minutes of HIIT
30 minutes of strength training
5.2 KM of
4.3 km of fast (10°C)

Workouts went reasonably well, about 5km in, my body firmly decided it wanted to walk (albeit quickly).

Nice to see the protests in front of the Russian embassy getting ramped up the past few days. Also happy they saw my hat (has 🇨🇦 & 🇺🇦 on it)

First run since twisted ankle in November. Some observations:

a) holy shit am I out of shape

b) phone can now just ride in bra strap. awesome!

c) so out of shape

d) boobs are heavy? sports bra very necessary. there is way more bouncing and swinging than i expected.

e) parts of route enclosed by trees triggers The Fear now, which always surprises me

f) jfc i have no stamina any more

g) butt also bouncing, wtf?

h) felt so good to be outside and using my body again

This run was a very relaxed one, and it was a serene one as well. I met only three people in the course of my run, usually there are more people around at this time of day. But I really liked it that way. I just ran along without planning my route, trusting my inner autopilot. As it turned out, that was the best strategy for me today. Afterwards, I jumped on my and did an workout, followed by a workout, both of which by Coach Bakari.

No idea what sort of birds these are — sorry about the dogs. We heard this cacophony while out walking this evening. I thought they might be Eastern Screech Owls, but now not so sure.

No exercise this weekend, but I got moving again yesterday with a 4-mile run (which kicked my butt somewhat less than the prior run).

All told I walked/ran 9.9 miles, which is better than my goal of 8 miles a day. Today I walked to work, and will hopefully get in another run/jog this afternoon. #GeekFitness #RunGeekRun #Running

There‘s a new feature in the Tempo app called READINESS. It just synced a lot of data then showed me this: Strong Adaption, perfectly handling the training load. Hmmm, that sounds gooooood. 💪🏻

Wow! This was by far the best run in this whole year 2024: It wasn‘t fast, neither was it glorious, but I felt thoroughly detached from the ground. Every single step felt light and bouncy. The air was moist, there was no rain, the temperature a little under 10 degrees C – breathing felt so incredibly good, I didn‘t sweat much and I never felt cold. On top of all that, the audiobook was great (SLOW PRODUCTIVITY by Cal Newport) – what a start into the day!

I did my first heavy leg day in a month, but not as heavy as the last one that I felt fo ra week. I was pretty tight yesterday morning so did an easy run but followed by lots of walking throughout the day. I'm feeling it a lot more today. Time to work out the beef jerky!

I managed to get up to the of Eryri for a couple of days. not , but a couple of beautiful routes and perfect weather.

Day 1: Moel Siabod via Daear Ddu Ridge (Grade 1 scramble). Day 2: Cadair Idris via the Minffordd Path (somehow more technical than the scrambling!).

Hike: 10.7km, 946m elevation gain. Features bagged: Craig Lwyd (690m), Craig Cwm Amarch (792m), Cadair Idris (893).

First run in a week, seems to have gone well enough, although it was irritatingly warm, bright, and sunny out. Someone should do something about that.

Contemplating switching my mornings around. 🤔
