My search engine skills are failing me tonight. Does anybody know of a tool that will convert an HTML document into markdown? Linux obviously and CLI would be nice. I want to use it for a script.

@mike

Here are the tools I'm using:
➡️ turndown.js (a Node.js module) (https://www.npmjs.com/package/turndown)
➡️ markdownload - a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox to download web pages as markdown (https://chromewebstore.google.com/search/markdownload)
➡️ Pandoc - cli tool - (https://pandoc.org)

LOOP for Black Belts.

The #CommonLisp 'LOOP' macro is a data query language subsystem which provides an expressive way to collect data. Similar to #LINQ, which was introduced as part of #dotnet 3.5 18 years after 'LOOP'. The article below is from the depths of history (2005), but it aged well, is still relevant and fun to read.

.slnx The New .NET Solution XML File Format - NDepend Blog

For decades the .sln solution file format relied on a Microsoft proprietary file format, verbose, hardly readable, and based on GUIDs.

Now Visual Studio 2022 17.10 will propose the new .NET solution file format with improved handling of solution file merge conflicts.

Think Python, 3rd edition

The book is now entirely in notebooks, so you can read the text, run the code, and work on the exercises, all in one place.

Starting in February 2024, @allendowney plans to release new chapters, about one per week.

Mark Watson (@mark_watson) wrote this #eBook to introduce #CommonLisp to developers who already know how to program in another language. If you are a complete beginner, you can still master the material in this book with some effort.
