To me it just sounded like reinventing the mafia with crackdowns and the like. Maybe that’s how the right laws actually get placed. Wish it doesn’t come to that of course.
China afaik is currently doing exactly that, as well as a few companies in the United States. Its not something just as easy as “experimenting yourself” (although, that is a very simplified way to look at it.) This is decades of research, with billions of dollars. Countries like China can socialize some of these aspects, and seems to be doing very well. It still takes time and money, and research. All the while, the current leading companies are still also furthering their own research.
If you continue to keep your eyes closed while walking, and everyone is screaming to tell you to stop… No one will be there to physically stop you from walking, you’re on your own journey. Either open your eyes and look around, or don’t be mad when you fall off the cliff.
I’ve never owned a home, but when times get tough I always know what to do: Pick up my things and move. Yeah its not entirely possible a great swath of the human population, but thats not something I personally need to plan for now is it? No one deserves any of climate change to happen, but until people actually stand up and do something about it, it will not get better.
Moving doesn’t require money just so you know. Its very very possible to grab the things on your back and physically move yourself. If you haven’t quite understood that, then I’m sorry I had to paint it in such a picture. Its why I said “Not everyone can do this” but pretending money is the problem is an excuse.
You clearly don’t get it: Start PLANNING NOW. I’m not saying fuck poor, or fuck anyone. You seem to understand Florida will be flooding in the next 100 years, that sounds like plenty of time to plan and not be “surprised” when one day your home is no longer insurable
I didn’t know telling you to start planning and start doing something about your situation rather than just bitch about people “Hoping that I die because I can’t be assed to start moving away!” Was being a dick. But take care, I hope all works well for you.
The open your eyes part means; start planning now. Shouting and screaming won’t do anything to solve the issues you will face in the future. I am sorry you are jn this situation, but is been growing for the last 4 years or so…
Probably because we still require quite a few more years of long term effects. We all just kinda hope it isn’t worse. In the mean time, it could make it easier to quit, though the abundance of different “flavors” has made it much harder for me to quit. Cigarettes taste bad which made it easier when I was younger to quit.
Thank you! I still rematch the reboots from time to time, I loved this series. It makes me extremely excited to see this newest one. Like where’s the reboot where a modern day citizen jumps through a wormhole and accidentally lands on a “planet of apes”?!?

I’ve been most looking forward to finally enjoying a new generation of star trek! I’ve only recently had the chance to get into star trek, so I’m not quite as big of a trekky as lot of you, but boy do I sure love a moopsie…
I thought it was Asiimovs books, but apparently not. Which one had the 3 fundamental rules lead to the solution basically being: “Humans can not truly be safe unless they’re extinct” or something along those lines… Been a long time since I’ve explored the subjects.
To add onto Size/Difference, also time. When the moon was created; life wasn’t what it was say during the time of dinosaurs. Also imagine that we say dinosaurs, but thats a massive amount of time. There were numerous periods of near total extinction events, where populations and species bottlenecked. A meteor was only one of these events over our 4+billion life span as a planet.
Electricity always needs somewhere to go. Generally you can refer to where it goes, as a “Ground” I said “This is extremely simplified” for a reason.
I don’t actually understand what you’re trying to say, all I was saying is that Electricity is indeed going to take all possible paths, until it finds the one with the least resistance, which is what I believe you said just in a different way. You are a part of that circuit for a very miniscule, brief second, upon adding yourself (touch).
Seasonal allergies are nothing new, but they’ve been worsening as the climate grows warmer. Man reading stuff like this makes me feel incredibly lucky. I grew up with the worst hay fever allergies, (soon as it started my eyes and face became a crusty mess for the entirety of spring to fall) but they have actually gotten better over the years. This year I haven’t experienced any allergies thankfully besides my cat allergies, but thats always been a thing I happily ignore.
Why does everyone keep ignoring the fact that we can reuse the spent fuel rods. If we go the nuclear reactor way, this will inevitably need to happen anyways.
Yes, nuclear if always hindered by money. It doesn’t have to be that way, and one way to help nuclear is by correcting the information of old, and embracing the new technology we do have.
My first issue with this, is that he’s still using his information from 2013. For instance, he claims that the spent fuel is just as dangerous. Yet we have proven time and time again, that the spent fuel rods can be used in other nuclear facilities to generate even more power off of them. We have the technology (theoretically of course, you need to actually build the facilities for this to work…) get even more energy off this “waste”!
Second issue being he says the reactors would need a secondary power source in case of emergency. Duh? Thats his reason, is that they would need a backup power source to keep the coolant system running… Duh.
Honestly I’m still rocking my Q3 OG 500gb steam deck. To put how much I love this thing in perspective: I had got a slot for the Limited Edition Steam deck, but because my original works so darn well, I could not pull the trigger and didn’t see any good reason to upgrade.
Personally, if I were to do it again, I’d go buy a 64gb refurbished cheap af steam deck, but a 500gb nvme or w.e, and then use the extra money to just buy a bunch of 512gb sd cards.
Yep! Just make sure you get it in the correct formfactor, a 2230 NVME. And id also do a bit of research just because all of it is expensive equipment. Theoretically its just as easy as with a pc, just a bit smaller.
