Hey #PHP bubble, I need your help. What existing event sourcing library vendor would you trust? I mainly need an event store for now. All solutions seem a bit unmaintained but maybe just due to maturity?
Today a #TYPO3 8.7 will die and rise again as 11.5. Next project will be the upgrade of a 6.2 to one of the current versions. 🎉
I have very little time but if you need help with TYPO3 upgrades, even the tricky ones: Ping me. If there's time on my and budget on your end, there's no need for a relaunch. 😉
It's quite sad but I do recommend switching from #TYPO3 to symfony more and more. Not for Content Management but for those sites that use TYPO3 as a framework. TYPO3 does feel a lot like symfony these days but people tend to use the original because TYPO3 cannot keep up to bring the same developer experience to the table.
Don't get me wrong, symfony has week points as well but in TYPO3 a lot more feels poorly implemented.
What's your day to day experience with TYPO3 these days?

Do you let the ORM persist your aggregates and record just the events for the aggregate root or do you let the ORM persist all entities seperately and record events for all data changes of all entities of you aggregate?
Does anyone remember what our CI pipelines looked like before docker and cheap cloud services?
I hardly remember myself because when I began web development the whole team worked on the same code on a samba share and we had to shout into the room: "Is anyone working in foo.php right now?"
So no CI at all. But those who did it early, how did you do it? On bare metal I guess?
Das Ende von #yuzu macht mich aus zwei Gründen traurig:
Die Switch ist eine veraltete Hardware-Plattform schon seit sie rauskam, Spiele auf einem 4k TV sehen grottig aus, 30fps ist für mich inakzeptabel. Beides hat yuzu mit upscaling und fr-unlocks behoben.
Ich hab keine Zeit&Geduld für frustige Spiele; yuzu mods haben beliebiges modding/cheating ermöglicht, und Spiele für mich frustloser gemacht. Ich bin voll fine mit einem "supereasy" mode in Spielen.
Hach, ich bin ja 100% für Digitalisierung aber warum ist alles in diesem Land so seltsam verhunzt?

Ausweis-App geht nur wenn man den gesamten Prozess auf dem Handy macht. iPhone SE ist aber für die meisten Dinge dann zu klein, Formulare sind verbuggt, man kann nicht alles lesen.

Wir haben fast Vollbeschäftigung, es fehlen Fachkräfte und die Antwort der Politik (alle Parteien) ist bessere Bildung. Dabei haben doch schon die Millenials mehr als je zuvor studiert und Berufe bekommen, die sie gerade so in der Mittelschicht halten.
Wie kann da nicht die erste Frage sein, ob wir vielleicht einfach die Leute beschissen bezahlen und wie bessere Bildung das ändern soll?
So nice da draußen die Tage mit an die 25 Grad auch sind, schaut man auf den Kalendar wird einem doch mulmig. Die Durchschnittstemperatur lag im Mai bislang bei 14 Grad.
Ich gebe zu, das letzte Jahrzehnt hat mir auch schon das Gefühl für das Normale genommen aber das hier ist eher so Ende Juni Wetter.
Mein Vater hat mir von Schnee im April erzählt, ich erzähle meinem Sohn von Schnee im Januar und er seinem von 5 Grad im Winter und erträglichen Sommern.
Was für eine Shit-Show. Vorstand beim Endkunden wechselt, neue Agentur muss her, alle Projekte für viel Geld neu. Keine Kooperation. Alles Alte wird weggeworfen.
Unabhängig davon, dass das nicht wirtschaftlich ist, ist es eine riesige Klatsche für die Mitarbeitenden, deren Arbeit aufgrund von Machtspielen in Sekunden entwertet wird.
Natürlich verlieren da manche ganz grundsätzlich Lust am Job.
Aber Hauptsache eine Person hat sich ganz oben durchgesetzt und ihr Spielchen gewonnen…
I have upgraded two systems to #Ubuntu 24.04 now and also tried #Thunderbird as snap (which is the default for Ubuntu 24.04) on another machine.
The system upgrades were incredibly smooth. Thunderbird in general also works fine, but it doesn't support #GPG with private keys on a #YubiKey yet (which is my usecase). (Yes,there is a workaround, although clunky.)
So it looks like I'll stay on 23.10 a bit longer on my main machine.
@oliklee Me too but I don’t understand why there are so many different competing package formats once again. And then there is the whole nix universe as well. Hard to decide what to use and tbh, double click an exe or moving a dmg file is sometimes easier than using a package manager. 🫣
@oliklee snaps feel like a step backwards although they shouldn’t. Whenever I used one, I faced issues. Missing fonts in dialogues was the most annoying. But also missing hardware support. Slack as a snap couldn’t use my camera and microphone.
Maybe things improved over time but I still don’t see the advantages despite understanding the theoretical technical advantages under the hood.
