Resistance to oppression is inherent to all life.

Revolutionary Situation by Artists United Against Apartheid (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artists_United_Against_Apartheid) in 1985,
featuring among others Zindzi Mandela (yes, Nelson's daughter), Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Allan Boesak backed by some very oldschool-style hip-hop.
Also the voices of some apartheid-supporters and -proliferators like repugnant Reagan.
Still highly relevant today, by States subjecting people to the same violations and resulting situation.

A comment on the "retaliatory attack" from Iran on Israel during the night to today (https://todon.eu/@b9AcE/112268490079216894).

The bombing of Iran's consulate in Damascus on April 1 killing 16 people was an obvious trap to through the Iran-theocracy's longstanding rhetoric force it to do "something" highly visible or lose the prestige amongst some people that it has been generating through its posturing, proxy low-intensity war and through its rhetoric regarding Palestine which it would lose unless it acted somehow in return for what was technically Israel bombing Iran (diplomatic mission grounds are legally actual territory of the State it represents) and therefore it would lose more of its grip to brutally oppress the people at home as well as to project imperialist power,
which was undoubtedly a situation Netanyahu and pals specifically intended to trigger by its bombing since Netanyahu desperately needs a long and escalated war as protection against the years long huge domestic protests and demands for Netanyahu's ouster and continued prosecution for corruption.

That several major world "leaders" refused to even condemn the bombing of a diplomatic mission by Israel made it clear relying on supposed intl law was not an option; Biden et al are thus co-responsible for this world-endangering escalation.

The many years long and huge countrywide protests against the inhumane conditions for retirees under the Iran-regime continues also today, here for example for retired teachers, at the budget office in Tehran.

One of the issues for example is that pensions have not been inflation-adjusted for many years under extreme inflation causing the basic food items like cooking oil to sometimes even quadruple just from one week to another (e.g. https://todon.eu/@b9AcE/108319274803836334) causing actual starvation conditions, while the regime instead squanders its resources on vastly increasing its brutal repression forces to quash protests including against that starvation, on its imperialist ventures, etc.

Oh Rachel...
According to United Kingdom governmental foreign policy, Jerusalem is not the capital city of Israel, even if you feel like it is because you wish it was and you claim your feelings as truth while such an incorrect statement would usually be called just a "lie".
It is not Apple that sets the State of United Kingdom's policy, but congratulations on using your clout for being good at maths to push a major corporation into less reflecting the current actual reality, specifically while those whose existence and rights you erase are being subjected to crimes against humanity and genocide.

After a year of war in Sudan, a rapid scale up of response is needed to avoid catastrophe

• A year after war broke out in Sudan, millions of people continue to suffer under heavy fighting and a lack of aid.
• Sudanese authorities systematically block the delivery of aid to some areas, while the RSF has looted health facilities and supplies.
• A chronic lack of response from humanitarian organisations and the UN have made an already dire situation in Sudan desperate.
• MSF urges the warring parties to allow humanitarian aid and access, and for the UN and organisations to immediately scale up their response.
[...]
"Every day we see patients dying because of violence-related injuries, children perishing due to malnutrition... Despite all this, there is an extremely disturbing humanitarian void."

"The Higher Regional Court of Celle [Germany] sentenced Kurdish activist Mehmet Çakas to two years and ten months in prison on Wednesday for membership of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK)."
https://anfenglish.com/news/kurdish-activists-mehmet-Cakas-sentenced-to-prison-in-germany-72706

Four years ago already:
"[EU's police agency/union] Europol: PKK has not carried out any terrorist attack on European soil"
https://hawarnews.com/en/159307068017411

So this, by Germany, is only done in order to pleasure the dictator of Turkey and to enable the wars of aggression, crimes against humanity, genocidal acts and ethnic persecution by that regime, which is in alliance with "former" al-Qaeda and has been several times caught aiding ISIL/Daesh, while the PKK on the other hand follows the Geneva Conventions since it on January 24 of 1995 made a unilateral declaration https://anfenglish.com/features/pkk-has-complied-with-the-geneva-conventions-since-1995-50097 to do so even though it can't accede because it is not and do not want a State.
As there are no legitimate grounds for the criminalization of these defenders against ethnic persecution, crimes against humanity, etc one must assume it to be done because the Govts of Germany approve of such acts and alliances. Priorities.

The law allowing for decreed "frisking zones" wherein all of the people in entire areas of undefined size but thought to be used to cover up to entire cities, get treated as guilty unless proven innocent by letting police arbitrarily stop and search every person in that area without any individual grounds for suspecting any crime at all, was just approved by the Parliament of Sweden, with 151 votes against 148.
They only have to come up with a rationale AFTER having frisked anyone, opposite order of normal.

Opponents of the Orwellian law pointed out the risk that the infamously racist cops of Sweden may subject people to racial profiling through such zones,
but police and pals said that it won't because that would be illegal and "we're not racist",
while in actual reality they have even had public project "REVA" hunting for undocumented refugees in the subways, etc by stopping people at the turnstiles based on... skincolor and then when asked to legitimize their official racial profiling policy, excused it with that having darker skin meant there was grounds for suspecting the person wasn't allowed to be in the country.
Or when they stopped all brown-skinned or darker at an international ferry harbor but let all white-skinned walk on by, to then use same textbook racial profiling as excuse.

The global exploitation fashion retailer Zara has been forcing its employees to stand within a 50cm*50cm taped square their entire working shift e.g. unpacking clothes and demanding they ask permission to leave the square, are forced to stand working at the checkout cash register for 10 hours straight, have timed the staff's toilet needs demanding a reason for taking 1 minute too long at the toilet and the workers have been abused by the bosses for in one case e.g. being yelled at in front of the customers for wearing clothes the boss didn't like and then forced to change clothes, reports major newspaper Aftonbladet in Sweden.

"Sometimes it feels like a prison", explained a current employee.
"One is their slave", said an ex-employee.
"People get panic attacks. One sees people crying in the storage room", says another.
"The job at Zara is actually the worst thing I have ever experienced in my entire life. I had panic attacks at the toilet and cried in the mornings", told a fourth.

Zara's press-department wrote in response that they "didn't have a spokesperson available for interview". Suuure.

I may not be their target demographic, but I do of course 100% boycott Zara and so should you.

My next phone, the @shiftphones 8 (https://www.shift.eco/en/shiftphone-8-status-page-2/#key%20data),
is about to reach the beta stage of development,
they told us pre-orderers in an e-mail just now.

Soo, if you wanna betatest what may soon-ish (hopefully) be the overall best phone in the world, you can apply to be a betatester here:
https://www.shift.eco/einladung-shiftphone8-betaprogramm/
You'd have to buy it to be eligible, one might assume. ;-P

Unfortunately SHIFT GmbH still just absolutely SUCKS at communicating with people trying to be their customers in any language other than German, so that is their greatest obstacle against worldwide success and the world's loss.

Seems some had something more important to do that day in school, so again:
Russia and Turkey and both "in Europe", "European countries", etc.

The standard definition of the eastern edge of the continent Europe is along the crest of the Greater Caucasus in the Caucasus Mountains, the Ural river, the Black Sea and the Bosporus Strait.
The traditional definition also is that if part of a country falls within that definition of Europe then the country is "European", "in Europe" and so on, even if some or most of it is outside.

Here's a map (from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Europe_polar_stereographic_Caucasus_Urals_boundary.svg):

I'm so old, when I started with the whole Linux/related stuff, people still thought "top" was suspiciously fancy and were like "I prefer good old 'ps -elf[and some more] | awk -F [something] '{print [blah blah]}' | grep [whatever] | sed [gaah stop typing already!] | tee [somewhere] | tail -f'".

I've been amazed since like 2016 or so at how much improved "htop" (https://github.com/aristocratos/btop) is over top (yes, we ignore the glances, apparently).
Then, three days ago (yes, I'm THAT late) I decided to try "btop".
I believe my jaw is still on the floor. :-D

Remember, this is all nominally just "text" with color codes.

Friday evening I suddenly got such intense toothache that I've been dizzy, shaking and vision flickering almost constantly all through the weekend, unable to sleep more than maybe 2 house total since night to Friday.
Now, I've had an emergency inspection at the People's/Public Dental Care and they told me that out of that tooth's three roots 1½ are dead, the tooth is half dead and death is spreading.
So I replied, that's appropriate, since it has made me too feel half dead by now. ;-D :-///

So, tomorrow I get to travel to a city to get an emergency tooth pulling.
Maybe then I'll be able to think properly again. Yaay!

UN nuclear watchdog head condemns drone strike on Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant [in Ukraine]

Rafael Grossi says three direct hits against the main reactor containment structures ‘significantly increase the risk of a major nuclear accident’
───
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/apr/08/un-nuclear-watchdog-head-condemns-drone-strike-on-zaporizhzhia-power-plant

Firstly: WTF is wrong with you, bombing a nuke power plant?!?
Worst case scenario that could lead to... worse than the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, which STILL results in food growing naturally (e.g. wild mushrooms) declared unfit for human food to this day up to >1000km away.

Secondly: This again demonstrates that nuke power plants are extremely irresponsible to build and to operate, as it is impossible to guarantee their security throughout all their operations and very long time of storage of spent but still highly radioactive fuels from bombardment, sabotage, earthquakes, meteors, flooding, etc.
