Led by WEHI and The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (Doherty Institute) — leading medical research institutes in Melbourne, Australia — the landmark study is being translated into a new clinical trial to assess whether the blood cancer treatment can be repurposed to offer a pathway towards an HIV cure.
Prof Sanders added: “Our hope is that this assay [test] could not only diagnose Parkinson’s disease, but also identify drugs that reverse or halt mitochondrial DNA damage and the disease process.

You really have a point here, but I don’t think Catholic church is the only one in which these gross events happen, the thing is that being one of the largest religion along with Islam they get the most attention and media coverage around the world. It’s just common sense. So yes, there are serious problems in that church, but I bet my ass that they’re not the only ones doing that. Take the blindfold from your eyes, every religion has leaders that abuse the power they have upon its followers to commit deplorable acts.
Yes, some sad things have happened in San Francisco. The number of unhoused people has grown significantly since 2019. There are too many people doing drugs on the streets—and dying from fentanyl. There is too much crime. And, finally, the remote work phenomenon that started with the pandemic has hit San Francisco probably...
No. Instance is like the full Reddit website, subreddits are communities here that are hosted in those instances. Check this comment, is very illustrative.

No, not normal at all. Being a patient with UC I can tell you that if blood is bright red, it means it comes from either the colon, rectum, or anus being the latter possibly due to hemorrhoids. If stool is very dark, like almost black, the bleeding is most likely from the upper digestive system being the stomach or esophagus possibly the culprits.
Either way, I strongly suggest you go to a doctor and check what’s going on. Blood on stools is something serious that needs attention immediately.
I don’t think so. The migration to Lemmy was minuscule. It’s still huge, like very huge, but now that I use Lemmy more than Reddit, differences are obvious. Reddit is so massive that it has become a wrestling arena, Lemmy on the other side, is a more quiet place where civilized dialogue is above anything else. It’s a matter of tastes, but I feel better here.

Everything sounds very good, but really, quite unlikely to accomplish. If world leaders don’t take this seriously, individual ideas are just wishful thinking.
