Hi, I'm Sloth! I'm an open world #GuildWars2 commander for Mystic Trading Company and Hardstuck, specializing in farms around the legendary weapon market. I also play other games and stream cooking whenever I need to do mealprep.

multiboxing hurts legitimate players. This needs to stop.

I ran Dragon's End today. Kicked these people when they joined, before we got a map to play on. They were not able to join our instance via squad.

Within about two minutes, a map queue formed. These people running 5-6 accounts EACH maxed out the map's player limit of 60, and made it so legitimate players could not join and have fun. They waited in queue for an HOUR.

Seven people could not join our fresh map and have fun.

A screenshot of Guild Wars 2. Five players are stacked together, doing nothing.
A screenshot of Guild Wars 2. A lot of jade mechs without visible players are stacked in the same location.

This is NOT AFK farming; they are at their computers. This is just as (if not more) impactful to the average player. Something NEEDS to change. This makes me not want to tag up ever again.

bass,
@bass@mstdn.games avatar

@garpu It is! These multiboxers are at their computers, controlling 5-7 accounts at a time without automation, so they are not bots or AFK farmers.

bass,
@bass@mstdn.games avatar

@garpu I know people who AFK farm. They are getting 3 day bans and a warning to knock it off. ArenaNet is taking action, there's just a lot of them.

bass,
@bass@mstdn.games avatar

@garpu
Definitely report them! That helps support find them faster!

bass,
@bass@mstdn.games avatar

@garpu
They do not care. Their income for playing the game is 5x larger than yours. Players do not have the tools to remove them. Action from ArenaNet is needed.

bass,
@bass@mstdn.games avatar

@cheshire_ge The players behind these accounts are acting in bad faith to get more loot. ArenaNet needs to action their accounts.

If you happen to still have a Twitter account, I would very much appreciate any help boosting this post. Decided to bring it up over there too and the discussion is gaining traction.

More eyeballs means more chance of this problem actually getting fixed.

Update: this incident went a little viral? Teapot boosted this on Twitter and did a stream where he tried to find leeches on EU. Glad to see the issue get more visibility.

I also got a few other commanders reaching out to offer suggestions on ways to avoid leeches while we wait for ArenaNet to figure their shit out, which was GREATLY appreciated. We ran DE today and had zero leeches.

This isn't over yet, but at least ingame it's at least playable.

In any case, I decided to give Mastodon another chance. I'm frustrated with social networks at this point, and sometimes I just miss having a place to drop some thoughts.

This is ussually when I start a new blog, but I know I just don't have the right state of mind to do so.

I just can't remember how I started on Twitter or Tumblr. Did I just follow people at random? I think I did. Should I just toot away?

@dskzero search hashtags for stuff you're interested in, and make sure you use hashtags for something whenever you talk about it!

Also, consider making a post with #.introduction to introduce yourself

People that don't stack green AoEs in open world should be sent annoying mail from the game automatically each minute for an hour every time they fail the mechanic. The time stacks.

Last Epoch offers a deep-dive into the faction-based item trade system arriving in February 21 launch

@massivelyop IMO the biggest thing EHG is doing with trade is making any purchased items immediately account bind to the buyer. Buying items to sell for more later is not possible.

Combine that with each trade costing favor, and you get a system that lets you comfortably sell items while making a pure econ gearing strategy impossible. This system will get people to gasp actually play the game and enjoy themselves.
