Migrating from Twitter to Mastodon be like (lemmy.world)
This place has become a ghost town
Which means we’ve finally moved on from bitching endlessly about Reddit!
What is your favorite older movie that could NEVER get made in this day and age?
Do Redditors see Lemmings the same way Windows users see Linux users?
Why is there hostility towards suggestions to switch to lemmy from redditors?
Best way to "calibrate" macbook pro battery?
I have an older model MBP (2009 era) that’s still running great with Linux. No hardware or software complaints. I installed a new battery in it about a year ago and it’s time for a new calibration, I think. What are some tips to fully optimize the life of the battery?
This little guy was abandoned in the middle of a busy road (reddthat.com)
Do you think Lemmy is going to cover niche topics like this someday? (va.media.tumblr.com)
I swear I’m not trying to promote Reddit, I’m a refugee as many of us here, I just saw this video linked on r/Save3rdPartyApps and it amaze me that many people used Reddit for niche stuff....
People are just way too picky when it comes to movies.
What do I mean by this? Well, what I mean is that by and large most people just don’t take chances when it comes to new content. So many just play it safe and go for the same old movies again and again....
Since we know where you keep your phone, what hand do you hold it in when using it?
I’m a righty but hold my phone in my left hand. Works best for writing things down while holding it or typing on the keyboard
Offline media is kinda my jam
This may seem kinda ironic to be posting about, but when I say offline, I don’t mean strictly physical (like print books), so much as stuff that still works even when internet’s disrupted or whatever....
What's a good federated social media that's less anonymous/more like facebook?
I’m looking for something where I can do some local community building, I’m guessing mastodon might work but I think the ideal is something like facebook where I can join a group tied to a common idea and a location, as well as being a bit more personal. Is there anything like that?
Letter of Appreciation to Lemmy Moderators [META]
Hello everyone. Let’s take a second to appreciate some unseen workers here, huh?...
LOL, I was just permantly banned from /r/metalmemes for referring to transphobes as "cunts".
Doesn’t seem very metal to me, being a long time metal head.

Professional photographers of Lemmy how much do you charge for wedding photos and video?
My fiance and I are starting to plan our wedding and neither of us know the going rate for these services individually. I wanted to ask around to make sure we don’t get fleeced and also to be sure we don’t lowball anyone. We are planning a destination wedding and will be hiring a local professional, but I wanted to get a...
Server side bug with lemmy.world and intermitent authentication.
I am currently getting signed out every minute from lemmy.world. This is not a client side cache issue. I tested making API calls from the command line (with curl) with no cache and the issue still occurs. One call I get the correct response, the next I get a 400 telling me im not signed in....
What are some Redditisms that Lemmy needs to avoid?
For example, people on Reddit asking redundant questions and give equally redundant or unhelpful answers....
