I had this idea for some #LiveLaughLocalTalk shenanigans as part of the upcoming #MARCHintosh stuff…

It looks like there used to be an AppleTalk VPN that was part of mac68k.info. It was done working by the time I discovered it, and the whole site is just gone now.

BUT!

The guy who made the client-side adev still has it available: http://www.synack.net/~bbraun/avpn.html

Then @vga256 found the IP extension to Apple's AppleTalk Internet Router. Mildly perplexing software, but seemed to be figureable-out.

Oh good. After having sent over way too many words, a client has come back saying that the laid-out document is too text-heavy and can I add some more design to make it nicer.

Nope? We can add more pages or you can cut 1/3 of the text. But we can't just magic up some more magic design to work some magic.

#RetroComputing #VintageMac nerds! Any tips for what’s wrong with this dual processor G5? It did used to work, but stopped a couple of years ago.

Press the power button and the white light flashes on then off, a red light inside lights up then off, and the insides spin up then down straight away.

I’ve reseated everything, replaced the PSU, checked the white tab on the deflector…

So the LC I got working earlier this week? Its power supply wasn’t actually working, so I pilfered the one from the LCII. Will recapping this get it working as well? Or will I just make things worse? #RetroComputing :S

Digging around trying to see if there are still any dialup ISPs left in the UK. Came across this delightful gem:

A few weeks ago a #HeatPump appeared outside the house, so it got plumbed in and the radiators all got made larger, et cetera. But there was no electrician available to wire it all up. Today the electricians have arrived and are working their magic, and so hopefully by the end of the day I'll have central heating again for the first time since about April :D

Macintosh LC. An objectively terrible and crippled machine, but still surprisingly capable.

16mhz 68020 processor
10mb RAM, no virtual memory
256 colours 640x480 screen

And despite those specs, there is a lot of cooperative multitasking going on!
