I don't entirely know what I'll do with this machine still. But it’s maybe nice to have a Linux desktop that's more powerful than a Pi, and less network-critical than the Lego computer. Just something I can poke around with and it doesn't matter if it all needs to be wiped or anything.

@billgoats I recommend something like a #hp #T620 #ThinClient for those that want to poke with #Linux on the #Desktop.
You can get one used with 4 GB RAM, WiFi and power supply for less than a @Raspberry_Pi #Pi4B2GB or #CM4WLite1GB at MSRP.
It'll run anything from #RaspberryPiOS for #ix86 and #lightweight #Linux distros like @bunsenlabs #BunsenLabsLinux to @ubuntu #UbuntuServer LTS and even @tails #Tails.
Tho #UbuntuDesktop will feel very slow on it.
But with something like #Porteus it's fine.

@billgoats @Raspberry_Pi @bunsenlabs @ubuntu @tails also it'll run laps around that #Core2Duo and sip single digits and barely reach 10W when one mines #Monero :monero: on it.
And since it's a relatively big case that's almost exclusively stuffed with a huge passive heatsink, it's completely #fanless and #silent.

The only disadvantage is that aside from a single M.2 B-Key SSD slot, two internal USB 2.0 ports a 2nd DDR3L-SODIMM, 4x USB 2.0 and 2x USB 3.0 on the outside there's no expandability.

Some people may even find #LubuntuLTS or @linuxmint #LinuxMint a good option when it comes to providing a hassle-free unit when one wants a #Desktop and not just a #ThinClient option similar to #Porteus which is a #Freemium offering...
