I knew I was having a delivery of something to home today. It is something vaguely expensive, and somewhat hard to get at the moment.

My wife made the courier WAIT a moment whilst she opened the outer packaging in front of him, to make sure what was inside really was what it was supposed to be, and had not been substituted in transit.

... And i don't think I could love her any more right now.

When I was a kid I’m sure the only book in the bedside unit in hotels was a Gideon bible. Now it’s that, and a Book of Mormon. This is news to me. Will we gradually see more and more religious books? A Koran? A mini Torah? A Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster?

I definitely don't hate the party. I think it said and did the morally right stuff immediately after brexit.

But they have slid into near-irrelevance, in my opinion. Labour have become more relevant but mostly due to the steep worsening of the tories. So I'm now unsure what LD's "place" is in the UK, if indeed, it has one.

My membership money will instead be going to Humanists UK, who are an almost-lone voice against USA-originated theocratic encroachment into abortion rights in the UK.

    I know Leo Varadkar was not super popular with his nation. But, as someone in the UK who has witnessed a succession of shit leaders, fucking hell it’s refreshing to hear a political leader say, effectively, “I’m not doing a good job, so I’m resigning”. I weirdly think history will be kind to him.

    Can anybody think of a way of using multiple Ikea Symfonisk (I think Ikea did these in collab with Sonos) wifi speakers as a kind of PA system to stream a live, or nearly live, announcement?

    I’m thinking one in the corner of each room in a building. And then maybe you dial a SIP extension and it plays your live audio to all Symfonisk speakers in parallel and in realtime.

    Is dropbox just fucking shit these days?

    I ask because, upon going looking for a photo I took on my iphone, on a specific date, in my camera uploads, it wasn't there. Looking a bit harder, I realised basically no photos are being uploaded. And haven't been for ages. Other stuff (screenshots etc.) are being uploaded.

    Signed out and back in the app, not helped. Turned off HEIC->Jpeg. Not helped.

    Raised ticket with Dropbox support.

    Meanwhile, iCloud had quietly done its job; photo was in there.

    Question:

    Does this (see image) mean I can definitely get Win11? The reason for my asking is that I thought my PC could not get it, because it did not have ... something? Some kind of hardware security thing? This was my vague understanding. But now I am being offered it. Is there a risk I'll download, install, upgrade, then be told "haha you're fucked, you can't run this" ?
